In their Nintendo Direct conference, Nintendo showed a new, albeit familiar-looking, controller. The new Pro Controller will feature a new design, this one very much resembling the Xbox 360 controller, when it releases for the Wii U. Similarly to the Wii’s Pro Controller, this gamepad offers a more traditional experience compared to the “standard” Wii U controller.
No details are available about a price point or release date. Presumably, those are being saved for this week’s E3 conference. Stay connected to The Game Fanatics for the latest news, straight from E3.

this E3 sucks…
Well, I play a lot of games on my pc with an xbox controller, would I be able to use a xbox 360 headset that plugs into the controller?
how much will the bundle that has the classic controller pro and Monster Hunter Tri cost?
it looks fun and has great graphics considering it being on the wii
do you think the game could be one of the best games forthe wii?
because i think so
The Wii U is Nintendo’s sixth home console and the first Nintendo console to produce 1080p high-definition graphics, and features a new controller with an embedded touchscreen. The controller allows a player to continue playing certain games by displaying the game even when the television is off. The system will be backwards compatible with Wii, and Wii U games can support compatibility with Wii peripherals, such as the Wii Remote Plus, Nunchuck, and Classic Controller Pro. It will not be backwards compatible with Nintendo GameCube media or peripherals
A prototype version of Wii U was showcased at E3 2011. The design of the console and controller were not definitive versions.[48] The controller demonstrated a touch screen over 6 inches wide and contained a built-in microphone, speakers, gyroscope, accelerometer, rumble and camera. All processing is done on the console itself, the output of which can be displayed either on a TV, the controller, or both simultaneously; however, the screen only supports single touch, not multitouch, going against a popular trend across the technology industry, and, at the time of unveiling, the system only supported output to one tablet controller at a time, though Nintendo is reportedly looking into allowing for such functionality in the final version of the hardware.[50] Games that were confirmed are LEGO City Stories, a new Super Smash Bros. game, and the movement from Wii to Wii U of the long-in-development Pikmin 3. A list of third party titles was also announced to be available at release.
The Wii U GamePad is the main controller for the Wii U. It features a built-in touchscreen, which can either supplement or replicate the gameplay shown on the main display, even functioning as a standalone screen without the use of a television. The controller also features an accelerometer, gyroscope, camera, dual analog sticks, as well as a built-in microphone, and support for Near field communications. (which can be used for, among other uses, figurines that can interact with the console, wireless credit card payments with compatible cards). The console will also be compatible with the Wii Remote, Wii Nunchuk and Wii Balance Board, as well as a Wii U Pro Controller for more traditional controls. Two Game Pads are supported per console.
Shigeru Miyamoto promoted the idea of the Game Pad because he supports being able to use a secondary screen while someone else is watching the television. Wii U is said to offer asymmetric competition, where the player using the Game Pad has one experience and wins in a certain way, while competing players have different ways to play and win.
CPU
The Wii U CPU is designed by IBM. It is described by IBM as an “all-new, Power-based microprocessor”,the processor is a multi-core design manufactured at 45 nm with an eDRAM cache. Although neither Nintendo nor IBM has revealed detailed specifications, such as the number of cores, clock rate, or cache sizes, references to the chip containing “a lot” of eDRAM and “the same processor technology found in Watson” indicate that the processor shares some characteristics with IBM’s POWER7 processor, which powers the Watson computer system and incorporates a large L3 eDRAM cache.
The Wii U CPU will be produced by IBM at their 300 mm semiconductor manufacturing facility in East Fishkill, New York.
System software
The Miiverse is the main screen for Wii U. It is a tile-based interface that features Miis of the console owner and people around the world; it shows both the console owner’s tastes and global trends.
Eventually, the Miiverse will be accessible from any Web-enabled mobile device.

Anyone old enough to have played an NES back in the day? Remember those problems we would eventually run into trying to start the system which prompted the infamous blowing into the cartridge?
Ahhh, the memories….
Well, my question is this…What was the cause of those start problems? Does anyone know why Nintendo systems would do that? Thanks!
I have checked that games will be available for the ds until atleast the end of 2009. Is Nintendo planning on revamping the Nintendo Ds Lite as they did to the original Ds? And/Or will Nintendo create a totally new handheld system?

It’s important to understand the difference between a Classic Controller and a Wii U Pro controller. The Classic Controller has been available for a while, but the Wii U Pro controller was announced at E3 2012:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui8vPmQLBh0
At the VERY beginning of the announcement, an image of a Wii Remote, NunChuk, and Wii Balance board was shown, but no Classic Controller was pictured.
This raises a question: With the announcement of the Wii U Pro controller, is Nintendo ditching compatibility with the Classic Controller?
(I’m aware Wii U will not support GameCube hardware or software)
When I plug my wired 360 controller in, the green lights in the middle of the controller flash and keep flashing but they don’t settle to the player two position (I already have one wireless controller synced up) and the player two light on the actual console doesn’t light up. I don’t usually use the xbox (it’s my brother’s), so this may be a stupid question, but can somebody please help? Thanks!
I just purchased a new PS3 and it came with a controller. I pluged everything in and the the controller doesnt work. When i plug it in the red lights flash for a long time, so i left it plugged in for a while to sync and charge. None of the buttons on the controller work, not even the PS button. I have attempted to reset the controller, when i do the screen acts as though i am attempting to connect to wifi (?) and the controller quits flashing 1-4 and stays solid on 1. Any advice?
Nintendo announced that their Wii U would suport 2 gamepads, and I was just wondering if all the games would support two. Also, I was wondering how many Classic Pro Controller’s the Wii U would support, and which games support the Classic Pro Controller. Thanks.
I recently bought the pc version of nba live ’08 and planned to play it with a controller that I bought in South America. The controller works with all of my emulators, so I expected it to work with live, but that is not the case. Once it worked, but the game would not preserve my saved controller preferences. Now it has totally stopped recognizing the presence of the controller. Help! I do not want to pay any more money for another controller. Thanks.
So I was planning to get a Wii U but my best friend has a PS3 and I doubt she will be getting the Wii U. The Wii U seems really cool and new but I can’t really find any games that I would enjoy on it. (It doesn’t have a lot confirmed so far) I have played RE5 with her online and it was fun as hell. (I borrowed my other friend’s PS3) I know the Wii U doesn’t have a lot of games for it yet since it didn’t even release but in the list there is I don’t see anything that interests me that I can’t get on a PS3. I could get a refurbished PS3 for about $160 while the Wii U is rumored to sell for $250. RE6 is coming out and we are both HUGE Resident Evil fans, playing with her would be really great, and also we could play other games like Black Ops Zombies ect. But the Wii U has a great tablet controller… that’s it. Here is a list of games that I would get if I had a PS3 (not all at once)
