I read the book Timeline by Crichton and there was a paradox that had me think quite hard on it. Say you are able to go back through time, and you kill your grandfather before you were born. Since he’s dead, were you ever born? And since you were never born, how could you of killed him? It’s an endless cycle of contradictions when you try to put it in logical perspective. Does this nullify quantum physics in a sense to be too much of a conundrum to exist or would space and time somehow bend itself to our actions in a way we can’t comprehend?

  2. I had a rough day at work. I do vulnerability and risk assessments of computer security. So I’m always the guy with bad news. And of course everyone knows everything, nobody listens. Which inspired me to think up this quantum-leapish conundrum. (Hint: It’s a conundrum because you must overcome human nature, how do you do it):

The Titanic while tragic was also momentous in ship safety and engineering– proving no ship is ‘unsinkable’. But due to human nature it had to actually happen before anyone would believe the nay sayers.

    The question:
You are sent back to save the Titanic 1hr before it hit the iceberg, could you do it? And how?

The answer I come up with is no because nobody would believe you. Or yes, that once maybe, but human nature says it or another one would sink the same way for same reasons.
Let me add- Just to reiterate- Yes, maybe ONCE. But don’t the laws of probability and the Human nature say it surely would happen eventually no matter what you did?

How is it that, you deny god , without pinpointing a specific god or religion , when you do not have the answers to such astounding paradox, such as a unified / non-diverse / non-multiverse nonexistence.

Let us consider counter intuitive aspects of relativistic phenomena that have been re-evaluated as the classical limit of quantum mechanics when applied to the well-known model of the quantum harmonic oscillator as it uses an explicitly non-relativistic expression for the kinetic energy of the oscillator to create a unified field. Even considering quantum electromagnetism applied to the unified field it is speculated that it may be possible to merge gravity with the other three gauge symmetries to create alternate plane existence within a multiverse…

This is not accomplished by introducing some new axiom to quantum mechanics for multiverse, but on the contrary, by removing the axiom of the collapse of the wave packet: All the possible consistent states of the measured system and the measuring apparatus for “Exact and Opposite” living.

And what the above actually says : ” With infinite fields of existence, in a multiverse , god exists simply because somebody somewhere once said he does not” . As this conundrum paradox states, within a multiverse, all possibilities exist.
You fail to see the simplicity of the above statement, god , was created by the human mind here within our plain of existance and as such, he exists. simply because we created him. If we did not create him ,he would not exist, but here we are talking about him.

If you say he exists and others hear you, it is now so. The infinite paradox of multiverse creation states that all possibilities are open.

  5. I have an LG Flatron W1943TE, with a resolution of 1360 x 768. I can play most games, but sometimes I find one that gives me a black screen when I play it and says my ‘analogue is out of range’. Problem is, sometimes I play these games, and then LATER they do this. For instance, I was playing Vessel just fine, and when I reinstalled it later on, it was out of range :/ the same with Vampire The Masquerade and Stalker. Just now, I tried Quantum Conundrum, which worked just fine, but when I tried to changed the in game resolution, I went out of range. I tried reinstalling, but it didn’t fix it. I’ve since restored to factory settings and it is still out of range.

I googled forcing a refresh rate of 60, and used Nview (I have NVIDIA) to manually set my RR between 59 and 60.001. They said this would apply to EVERYTHING. Clearly, it does not.

I have no idea what is making these games suddenly change on me, or how I’m supposed to fix it :(

A wise man once told me that the only way to find something,
Was to stop looking for it,
    So I have done.
No more will I do the algebra, the quantum physics, study of cosmology,
    Or the math sums.
But let me share with you the findings of my conundrum…
There are 6.7 billion people on Mother Earth,
Which leaves 3.35 billion of these likely to be females,
Of which about 800 million meet the circumference for my age group,
But there are plenty more details vital for finding a…
    Soul mate.
Our souls inextricably connected tighter than the chemical compounds described by the laws of quantum electrodynamics,
    She’s my static,
my electricity, my water, she keeps me breathing, gives me meaning, but she doesn’t even know it yet.
She doesn’t even know me yet.
    I don’t even know her.
Her middle name, her last name, her first name, hell I don’t even know her birthplace
    or current residency,
she’s just a ball of energy, keeping me alive mentally,
And, even though I know it, I don’t know her, we both don’t know it
But we’re linked, bonded, conjoined together, and one day we’ll melt each other like a hot soldering iron on freshly dried pewter,
    Soul mate.
She loves the things that others put past me,
    She’s just unaware
And I notice the things that others put past her
And she loves me for it
She finds satisfaction in my idiosyncrasies
We are the sound of Eric Satie’s Trois Gymnopedies
    When we meet.
But for now we don’t know each other, but we still know each other better than any other person on the planet…
    Soul mate,
She needs me to complete herself but she doesn’t know that she’s part empty yet,
like Ying and Yang we are opposites that have the same visuals,
I am the masculine she needs, she is the feminine I need,
And amidst it all we share common principles,
We root through each other like the deepest halves of a Bonsai,
Blossoming up to become 1 type, 1 form.
    We transform each other,
    We balance out one another,
She is my Winter and I am her summer,
There is not one without the other like there is not love without the lover.
    Soul mate,
And the likelihood is that I probably won’t ever find her, because I’m way behind on the mathematics,
There are 365 days in a year, and lets say for 3 years I’ve met new people every day, this gives me One-Zero-Nine-Five
Add 2 to that for leap years that gives me One-Zero-Nine-Seven and times that by two to get Two-One-Nine-Four because I’ve met a couple of people every day,
And in fact I’ve traveled some more,
so I’ll add 300 people to what I knew before,
and I’m stuck with a figure around Two-Four-Nine-Four
Of which lets say half are females, discounting 20 for relatives and the figure I’m left with:
    1227.
One thousand two hundred and twenty seven as a ball park estimate
For the amount of girls I’ve encountered on my short spell on earth,
So the chances of me meeting my soul mate…
    Might as well be 0%,
Because that is exactly what the calculator says,
But we both have hope, and she’s looking for me too, whether she knows it or not,
Because I am the last missing star sign on the 12 zodiac symbols that complete the calendar that is her soul,
Her qualities are my neurological stimuli,
But ironically she hasn’t even seen me.
    So eventually I’ll stop looking,
    And Hopefully…

    I’ll find her.
I just literally wrote this, if anyone has any critique or thoughts on this poem please feel free to share! This is more of a standing Spoken Word piece that I just practiced in my mirror but the lyrics are here anyway, I want to join a group in London but don’t know where I’m looking yet…
Much appreciation for reading this first and foremost.
Thanks cocoa butter, and yes, you smell sooooo sweet. Lol.
Thanks Cristina – Lol I get bored with my English accent, really need 2 get to America I’m hearing positive things lol.

Zumaria thankyou for noticing my poem and liking it, It could be for someone in particular later on I just found the concept of ‘Soul mates’ really interesting.

  7. I recently read an article saying that all people who bought a new copy of Mass Effect 2 got a free Cerberus Network code in the case, which unlocks two characters. Was the code only available when the game just came out (while it was still $60)? I didn’t get any code. Then again, I bought the game when it was around $30. I was in the hospital when the game released. So was I too late?

Also, is it worth it to buy this Cerberus code now? I already pre-ordered Mass Effect 3, and it will arrive next week. Is the code important enough for me to buy the code? I was saving the 1200MSP to buy either I Am Alive or Quantum Conundrum (both XBLA games).
This is for the Xbox 360

  8. I want to see Sony and Microsoft press conference live. I know you can see e3 on ign, g4, spike but don’t know exactly what part of the website to look at. This happened last year too so I had to see e3 days later on YouTube when it was finally posted. Thank you for your time. And by new iPad I mean third gen. iPad 3 or however you would like to call it.

  9. I know as a E3 i get paid about 1700-1900.
Because i have a shit load of college units and decided to join the Air Force, how much more would i get paid if i got married, anyone know? I can’t find a chart lol.

I went into the army as an e3 and I’m wondering how soon I can expect to be promoted to e4 from when I started basic training.

    Thanks a ton!
    I’m in the army

  11. There’s this new game called Quantum Conundrum which is made by the same people who made portal. It looks AMAZING! Besides that anything else?

  12. Next year me and some buddies are going to LA. We want to get tickets for e3 but it seems they are no where on the internet? Where can I find tickets, are they even available?

  13. i just beat the game and i understand that the uber ids was causing the overflow ut i dont understand wht happens with u and ur uncle, are u still in the real world or u in the dimension the uncle was in and is the uncle still trapped in the limbo, some one please explain this to me

Now that E3 is over, which presentation do you think was the best? worst? Are you thinking about buying a new console after the presentations?

  15. It started out being just while playing Quantum Conundrum, but now it seems to be very game… If i am playing a game in fullscreen, if i quit the game via the in-game menus or if i alt+tab/Windows-key out of the game, my computer flashes to a black screen like expected, but then never gets past that. it sits at that blank black screen doing nothing. Any audio that may have been going on in the background from a browser or music player freezes as well, so it is indeed and actual system hang. i tried to google it but i wasnt sure what to search for exactly so i didnt find anything of any help
defragged, updated all drivers, ran virus scans, checked registry, etc. its not specific with any 1 game or any handful of games. it seems to happen with EVERY game that runs in fullscreen

we were thinking about getting these: Flower, Limbo, Quantum Conundrum, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and/or Trine 1, so give thoughts on those too :) thanky

  19. I was watching the E3 09 trailer for motorstorm: artic edge for the PSP, and i really liked the song that was playing in it. It kept on saying something like “bring it on home” throughout it. Anyone know the name of the song?

How much would the tickets cost to go? Plane ticket? Covered. Food? Covered. Hotel? Covered Transportation? Covered. All i need to know is how much the would the ticket cost to actually get in?
Im a pretty wealthy man so please help.
    Thanks!
No it is open to the public.
I’ve seen people who are not in the video game industry go.
    I even know a few.
