Welcome back, True Believers! So good to have you with us! I’ve got a wide plethora of comics to discuss today, so there should be something for everyone.
First off, lets get our obligatory Avengers VS X-Men tie-ins out of the way. A VS X VERSUS #2 features fights between Colossus-Juggernaut and Spider-man (it’s a battle of the hypens!), and Gambit and Captain America. Neither fight is particularly interesting, nor really fair. So far VERSUS has been entirely skippable. It’s a good idea, but not well implemented. Then we have X-Men Legacy # 267, and it’s the battle of the B-listers! I’m probably being unfair to Rogue and friends, but that’s what it seems like. Not a bad issue, at all. Better than VERSUS and some of the main series by far. Rogue has some really good moments in this one. I love what Legacy has been doing, showcasing some of the other members at the school, not featured in the main run.
Speaking of the main run, Wolverine and the X-Men #11 continues to show that Jason Aaron is one of the best writers at Marvel. Despite having to fit the AvsX mold, he still continues to pull out some good issues. Give the man some good characters, and let him write. Wolverine fans will like this one, as he makes a couple important decisions here. Also, the Red Hulk VS Iceman fight is pretty great, as is the Iron Fist VS Rachel Grey fight. This issues does a good job of cutting between the X-Men fighting, and Wolverine and Hope.
If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out my review of The Strange Talent of Luther Strode. It’s a rather fantastic story, as well as a violent and action packed romp. Definitely worth picking up, it is currently available on Amazon for under $10. Quite a bargain. Be sure to read it in time for The Legend of Luther Strode this fall.
Also this week, we have another very solid issue of American Vampire. Issue #27 follows up last months’ story focus in Calvin Poole. I’ve missed a few of the recent issues, so I don’t quite grasp the whole story, but there is plenty of vampire-on-vampire action, and Poole seems like a rather cool character. Unfamiliar with him. Pearl has a cameo at the end, and it’s always nice to see her. The next arc looks rather exciting, as does the miniseries starting next month, Lord of Nightmares. Beautiful cover on this issue. Don’t miss American Vampire. If you haven’t, be sure to read the books. If you need further convincing, check out my review of the first volume.
I also picked up books 3-5 of DMZ. I got the first two books back on Free Comic Book Day and loved then. Finally got around to getting the next couple. It’s an exciting series with an interesting premise: press in the Second American Revolution. The story follows Matty, a young reporter who gets dropped into the DMZ (demilitarized zone, basically ground zero) between the two warring sides of what used to be the United States. In the DMZ, life struggles to survive amidst the violence, but it does continue and it’s Matty’s job to report what is actually going on to the folks back home. I’m only a little into it, but it is great, with some fascinating characters to suit the setting.
Until next week, True Believers!

Im sure you had fun writing this article eh?
If we accept the claim that “a true believers heart shall never waver”, and observer that there are many ex-christians – many of whom were completely indistinguishable from “true believers” to themselves and others, we have to accept the conclusion that they were never “true” believers, although they – and everyone around them – were sure they were.
Doesn’t that mean that not only is there no way for anybody to know that anybody else is a “true believer”, it’s impossible for a person to know that they themselves are?
Throughout history, wars have been about religion, or justified by religions, and exploited by them.
Where do believers put wars vs “Do not murder?”
It must be uncomfortable to talk about a loving God and view all the murder done in His name and excused by the officials of religion. Those excuses are then reused to justify more war.
If you are a “true believer” do you feel that you still have the ability to be objective about Obama? I have never seen people so willfully blind to this degree before.
I want to live for God and not live for this world anymore. But how do I go about it with out it being an extreme to the point of becoming antisocial or isolated? I don’t plan on joining a cult, just a simple church, but do i have to stop watching tv and listening to music.
Does Someone know the true way of not living for this world?

OK! I recently started to fall in love with Vampire Knight. What chanel does Vampire Knight show on? I know it doesn’t start until October 2008 but I want to be ready and know the channel name and etc.
My bad, I didn’t know. One of my friends said something about it on tv..Ok, where can I find it on the internet?
What Native American Tribe believes in vampires and werewolves.
But we’ll take all our science, innovation and technology with us. In one hundred years we’ll be embarking on inter-stellar travel while the theists burn dried turds for warmth.
I was thinking of picking up a vampire comic book. I am stuck between I, Vampire from the DCnU and American Vampire. I here they are both good, but I also hear I, Vampire makes you read Justice League Dark, which I hear is also good. Which is better and for what reasons in your opinion?
Which is better?
I’m not just talking about Low paid people in service but also the entire complex of Defense Industry Jobs
And we are on the 10th revelation, awaiting the mark of the beast, does that mean that He will come and save us soon, in this life time?
like a vampire it needs blood as a lubricant to oil its machine…

is it only when he lies?! or is it whenever anyone who falsely testifies that such and such is a heretic. ?
for that fact what if a true prophet comes along and someone says its not biblical to have a prophet anymore, is not that interpretation of the bible a heresy?
so how do we know?
we are warned against false teachers but then again is any true believer a false teacher?
the debate continues.
