Harvest — The Doctor Will See You on August 2012

New from comes Harvest. A world where human trafficking and organ mills run by the Yakuza are ever present problems. The five part comic comes from the minds of writer, AJ Lieberman and artist, Colin Lorimer.

Overall, the series looks like it will have a bit of an unsettling or “sick” look to it. And that’s all welcome by me. Being a fan of Dexter, I’m no stranger to blood or feeling comfortable watching a character be around it. It looks like there is always a hint of green in the panels in some way or another. If you take a look at some of the previews from Image Comics below, you’ll see what I mean.

The description of Harvest on the Image Comics site, lets it be known that human trafficking, the Yakuza organ mills, and rogue medical teams will be constant throughout the series. Not to mention there’s a six-year old drug fiend involved as well. The story reminds me a bit of the written by Eric Garcia, The Repossession Mambo. Or as most might know it, the feature film called Repo Men, which starred Jude Law and Forest Whitaker. It even looks like it has a hint of : Human Revolution in it as well.

Dr. Benjamin Dane must take back organs that have been placed inside of some very important and powerful people if he wants to take down the enemy, quite literally, from the inside out. Of course the “repo” part about taking back organs is what reminds me of the film Repo Men. But what Image Comics describes this mind curdling twisted new baby of theirs is as follows.
If Dexter, ER and 100 Bullets had a three-way and that mind blowing tryst somehow resulted in a kid, that kid would read HARVEST. Medical Grade Revenge.
Harvest will hit store shelves sometime in August of this year. Part 1 of 5 will go for $3.50. And if you’re still not convinced about checking this bad boy out, take a look at these previews below.

He wore all red, and had a radiotion symbol on his chest. He flew and also wore goggles I think.

Do you know his name? Thank you!!

3. I recently bought a bunch of issues of Invincible by image comics by Robert Kirkman from my comic shop .com They are currently out of stock and have been out of stock for these issues. I have searched online but could not find them in stock anywhere else either. PLZ Help

4. Who is the most powerful hero?
Is it Invincible? Savage Dragon? or Spawn?
For a while I thought it was Invincible, but I’m beginning to doubt that.

Characters outside of earth (Omni-man, Allen the Alien) don’t count. As well as deities (God, Satan and a bunch of characters from Spawn).

5. Saw article re Denver police 2 yrs ago purchasing SWAT Mk IV rifles w/rubber bullets – 100 yd range. Can’t find more info. Can ordinary citizen buy such? Would be enough to scare off curious big cat/bear?

6. and it was purchased legally.

Shouldn’t we outlaw that kind of assault weapon?

Give me one good reason why we shouldn’t limit the number of bullets to 10 at a time.

The NRA is advocating to keep these 100-bullet machine guns legal.

If you shoot 10 times, and have to stop to re-load…….people will trample you and prevent you from shooting any further.

why do need to shoot 90 more bullets in a single slot?

Who are you “defending yourself” from? Godzilla?
We need a ban on clips that hold more than 10 bullets, which are not needed to hunt, practice or protect oneself.
“Weapons that hold a lot of ammo are usually used for competitions.”
—-oh yes, the spirit of competition is more important than peoples’ safety.

7. I have read stuff like Y: The last man, Preacher and Powers. Currently reading The Sandman and 100 bullets. What other good stuff am I missing out on? I’m really open minded so lay it on me.

8. It would be almost like a hunting range, except you get to hunt people. You’d pay about $15 for 100 bullets, and take as many people as you shoot. Don’t worry, I would only use worthless people like Jews or Mexicans as the prey. What do you think? One other problem — do you think the govt will reject the permit b/c of noise?

9. The guy in Colorado bought this weapon LEGALLY………..why should this type of weapon be legal?
If he had to stop and reload he would have been trampled long before 12 lives were lost.

Common Response:
“If more people could buy guns they would have prevented this massacre”
wrong on 2 counts:
1. In case you haven’t noticed, more people already can buy guns. It’s legal.
2. They could have done so with a gun that shotos 5 to 10 bullets without having to reload, not 100.
100 is designed for injury, not self-defense.
Unless Godzilla comes back to life you won’t need 100 bullets to defend yourself.

10. It is well known that bullets fired at Superman simply bounce off his chest. Suppose that a gangster sprays Superman’s chest with bullets of mass m = 2.6 g at a rate of R = 100 bullets/min. The speed of each bullet is v = 540 m/s. Suppose the bullets rebound with no change in speed. What is the average force exerted by the stream of bullets on Superman’s chest? and how?
