This is a weekly segment where we share what games we are currently playing for our readers to get to know us a bit better. Said games can range from retro to current and from casual to FPS games.
If we’re playing it, we’ll share it. Please feel free to comment with what you’re playing or your opinions on the games that we’re involved with.
William: Been going through Diablo 3 Nightmare mode. Kinda losing steam. The game isn’t so much the atmospheric dungeon crawler that the series used to be known as, and it’s more an “isometric beat-em-up”. Which is fine if you’re in to that sort of thing, but I don’t think it’s fully my cup of tea.
I’ll probably start back in on Legend of Dragoon now… That Eternal Dragon isn’t going to kill itself.
Greg: Finished and reviewed Max Payne 3. Rather good game. Check out the full review for details, but it is very good. Good narration, very tight and excellent gunplay. Much better than I had dared hope it be prior to released.
Other than that. Lots of Diablo 3. And discussion about Diablo 3 with William.
Jake: Diablo 3 every now and then. Now that I actually am done with my journalistic responsibilities for Tera and Diablo, I’m taking things a bit easy. Enjoyed some HoN Midwars last night and been playing Mario Tennis today.
Jeff: I haven’t been able to buy any new games, so I’ve been working back through my PS2 catalogue. This week I wrapped up Psychonauts and Ultimate Spider-Man, and made a little more progress in Resident Evil 4. I also worked up the courage to finish Half-Life 2: Episode 2, whose finale just doesn’t let up. These are all games I’ve completed before, but Microsoft neglected to make old hard drives and memory units incompatible with the slim units, and I fell victim to an embarrassing glitch that probably hasn’t affected anyone in about eight years.
Ben: Just started Hell difficulty and Diablo 3 still has my full attention.
Jen: Been playing Diablo 3 off and on. Its a pain not being able to save whenever and because of this, I haven’t been playing as much as I would like to. Most of my time this week has been with SWTOR again. I’m trying to help my husband reach level 50 with my own level 50 toon. I’ve also been playing as my Dark Jedi. By week’s end, I started to play the new Doctor Who game on Ps3. Its great fun for any Whovian. The review should be up today with more information.
I wana play something like battlefield, but until they remove punkbuster it’s not happening. I was wondering if there were any good, free games out there like it with vehicles and standard fps action? Nothing that uses punkbuster please. I don’t cheat, I just SERIOUSLY hate punkbuster.

I know just 1 game and i really enjoyed flying that plane. The game’s name is Medal of Honor Pacific Assault. So… what other games do you fly a plane but it is a fps game too?
It has been a week or so since I have gave some NBA facts, so I decided to come back with some things you may not have known.
1) Did you know that the only man to ever win the rookie of the year while averaging less then 10 ppg was Tony Parker. Parker averaged 9.2 and 4.3 assists. What is funny is that Pao Gasol was a rookie the same year and put up 17 ppg and 8 RPG. Is the fact that Parker played on a winning team that much of a difference.
2) Did you know that there was never a player in the NBA with the letter X at the beginning of his last name. I challenge you to find me one. Did you know that only 3 players in NBA history last names begin with Q. Bob Quick, Chris Quinn, Brian Quinett. Seems like a stupid fact, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.
3) Did you know that after the Celtics and the Lakers that the San Antonio Spurs have more division titles than any team with 17. What is amazing about that stat is that they have only been in the NBA since 1976. Basically 17 of the 33 seasons the Spurs have played in the NBA resulted in a division title. Oh and btw the way the Lakers have won 31 division titles in 60 years of their history. Celtics 27 in 63 years. Sucks for the teams in those divisions.
4) I wanted to find a stat about Kobe Bryant that I thought people would find interesting. I found one that completely boggled me. I can’t figure this stat out at all. Kobe’s best season with passing was 6 apg. What is amazing is that the 6 apg year came in 2004-05 which is when Shaq left and he had no one around him and the Lakers only mustered a 34-48 season. What is amazing is that people say his is less selfish now when if you look at the assist numbers he is virtually the same as he was when he had Shaq which was around 5 apg.
5) For those who compare Kobe and Jordan, I want to give a interesting stat about them. Kobe’s best shooting season was 46.9% and has a career shooting % of 45.5%. Michael’s best season was 53.8% and had 6 seasons over 50% and 10 seasons above Kobe’s best 46.9%. Please also understand that the defense was tougher then. So when people make comparisions, please factor in shot selection next time as well. Remember I am not trying to stir a debate, just stating ACTUAL facts.
6) I wanted to give people an idea of the front court dominance of the Boston Celtics of the 80′s. Did you know that Bird,Mchale,and Parish consistantly averaged about 10 rpg per game throughout the 80′s which means that the 3 of them combined were grabbing 30 rebounds. It is like having 3 Marcus Camby’s on the boards at the same time. Pretty insane when you think about it.
7) I personally love dream matchups. Here are some dream matchups you may have never known actually took place. For those of you who know then it may not be a big deal.
In the 1988 playoffs we saw the defending champion Lakers with Magic, Kareem, and Worthy take on a youthful and prime Karl Malone and John Stockton. The Lakers needed the full 7 to beat them. People seem to forget this actually took place. So much for the 90′s teams not being able to compete with the 80′s teams.
Another dream matchup people may not have realized took place was in 1978 when the 76ers led by Dr. J took on the legendary bullets team with Elvin Hayes and Wes unseld. The Bullets prevailed in 6 games. Interesting considering how the 76ers on paper had a better team. Never underestimate team ball.
Another dream matchup for the ages took place in both 1971 and 1972. The Lakers stacked with Jerry West, Gail Goodrich, Wilt Chamberlain took on the Bucks with Kareem, Oscar and Dandrige.
In 71 the Bucks prevailed 4-1 and in 72 it was the Lakers 4-2. Kareem and Wilt sqaured off. Pretty amazing.
One last dream matchup occured in 1980 when the defending champion Sonics with Gus Williams, Dennis Johnson, and Jack Sikma, played the Lakers with Kareem and a rookie Magic. The Lakers prevailed 4-1 ending the Sonics run as West elite.
8) Did you know that the most fouls committed in one playoff run was Dwight Howard this year with 102. This guy is the defensive player of the year and has a huge height and ability advantage on most, but he committed 102 fouls in the playoffs history for one run. I thought you weren’t supposed to use your hands on defense. Just another reason why Dwight Howard is not as polished as people think.
9) Get ready for an insane stat. Shaq holds the record for most free-throws shot in a playoff game with get ready……. 39. Yes in the 2000 NBA finals game 2 against Indiana Shaq shot 39 free-throws. The Pacers committed 38 personal fouls which is an average of 4 fouls a game for the 10 players who played in that game. The real boggling stat is Shaq missed 21 of the 39 attempts, lucky for them they still won the game.

I’m 27 and my girlfriend is 25…
we’ve been dating for the past 6 months and we’re completely in love! I want to ask her to marry me soon but I have some worries…
The biggest issue is that she’s VERY JEALOUS, but I don’t mind because she’s so amazing… she is like a 5′ 2″ version of Jessica Simpson… only crazy, and I like it!
To make matters worse is that I’ve had 3 close friends die under mysterious circumstances since I’ve been dating her all within the past 6 months…
I had two lady friends, one named Amanda and the other Lily and I loved them dearly, I would have done anything for them… Then there is my best guy friend Aaron… he’s never let me down.
Well two months into my relationship my girlfriend, Vivian, tells me she doesn’t like Lily. I don’t think much of it until a week later Lily’s house is mysteriously involved in a drive by and she’s shot and paralyzed… I was upset but didn’t put 2 and 2 together… and the cops never found the culprit…
A month later Vivian says that she doesn’t like Amanda either… a couple of weeks go by and Amanda is involved and killed in a hit and run accident late at night… no witnesses or leads either.
Well last month Vivian also told me that she’s not very fond of Aaron saying the all he does is play around on women and she accuses me of going to strip clubs to pick up hookers with him… I deny it of course… but then two weeks later Aaron’s house burns down with him inside while he’s sleeping, he didn’t make it
and the police blamed it on arson after an investigation but they still don’t have any leads…
What are the odds that my girlfriend would be jealous of these 3 people and that they’d all end up dead due to mysterious circumstances?
The worst thing is even if it is true, I still love Vivian and would do anything in my power to make it work and I’m going to propose to her on Thanksgiving…

Diablo 3 looks like a immense must have game but i havent played the others so would this make a difference like does it need to be played from one to three?

The Big Ten is having a tough time keeping rivalries, particularly (arguably) the biggest rivalry is the history of college sports, Michigan vs. Ohio State, is the toughest to decide on…
It has been a tradition for Michigan and Ohio State to play each other in week 12. Now, as the Big Ten expands their teams, and will play a conference championship, many people can’t decide what is best for the rivalries…
Should they keep them in the same division and keep the game as it is? PRO: They play each other every year and keep tradition… CON: They cannot play each other in the Big Ten championship.
Should they put them in seperate divisions and still have them play every week 12? PRO: They can play eachother every year and still play in the Big 10 championship… CON: Playing eachother 2 times in 2 weeks is definitely unattractive, plus we already know the two would play again in a week, would they go 100%?

Ok, so I am a 16 year old boy who a few months ago started working. Alright, and I have an older brother who is 4 years older than me. Let me give you a little background on him. In high school he had about a 3.5 GPA and was only in C-team baseball and was moved up to JV for his senior year just because Seniors cannot play on C-teams. Alright, he never took any advanced classes and when he took the ACT he got a top score of 25. Now he is in Colorado School of Mines, and you may ask why? CSM requires like a 3.7 GPA, and a minimum of a 27 or so on the ACT. My father told the school that he would pay for my brother to go there, that is when they accepted him. Now he is a junior there and loving it. At 20 years old, he is not leagally able to drink. This may be the case, but he goes out and parties about 3 times a week (according to reliable friends). Also, he found that snowboarding is super cool. He has spent hundreds (if not a thousand) dollars on equipment alone. He HAS to have top quality everything! Now back to me. This year (for the first time ever) we had no Easter! Normally we get like maybe a candy bar and a bible or something, but this year money was so tight that we couldn’t afford anything. Ok, so thats alright. But for my sweet 16 I got about 50$ worth of fishing gear from Bass Pro Shops. On his 16th he got like a 300 dollar coat that he never even wears. Fair? Alright, now back to school, he lettered twice and upon his first letter he got a brand new top of the line letter jacket along with a class ring and about 200$ more worth of things for Christmas. I surrently have 4 letters, and have been waiting 3 years for a letterman jacket. I finally got one, but I had to pay for it! Fair? Now I am looking at a class ring and I bought one, with my own money again! Is this fair? Heck, right now I am so exhausted from work and school that I can barely stand. I have not had a full day off of work and school in about 2 months. Yes, it has been 63 days since I have had a day without work or school. Fair? He has no job, and my parents are paying thousands of dollars for him to go to school. He just got his grades back and got strait D’s in all of his classes. Fair? No I say. I have a 3.98 GPA including 4 college classes, work, and speech and debate. Heck, I have currently loaned out my parents over 2 thousand dollars just to make ends meet, when at the same time my brother is out snowboarding and walking on air. What should I do? some background:
my boyfriend and i have been together for over a year, i think we have a good relationship although we have gotten into 2 fights, our only 2 fights in the last month but it may be that we’re both going through changes in our lives and the resulting stress.
i’m 23 and still in school, he’s 27, just graduated from grad school, has a full time job and a six figure salary. his birthday was last month and i saved up for a while, and racked my brain for weeks on what to get him, i ended up spending over $100 on things that we had talked about doing and something he would enjoy (i.e. two cookbooks so we could try new things in the kitchen together, and a 3 month club membership that ships him hot sauces once a month since he loves spicy things)
now, i know he’s not just a bad gift giver b/c he has told me what he’s getting my parents and his parents for Christmas, and my first birthday we spent together he gave me a DVD set and a water bottle that was similar to his, things that i had mentioned i liked, and for Christmas he took me skiing, something i had mentioned i wanted to get back into, both when he only had a part time job.
this year for the month or so leading up to my birthday i dropped hints about things that i would like, and he ended up getting me a sweatshirt that says “bacon makes everything better”
granted i like sweatshirts and bacon, but i don’t own 1 article of clothing that has graphics on it other than a school i’ve attended or a sport i’ve played, it’s just not my style. and yes, i do like bacon, but i wouldn’t advertise it.
i know he was surfing facebook one day and saw the ad on the side for the t-shirt and decided that would be a fine gift.
he did take me out to dinner that night with my friends as well, however we go out a few times a week, and it wasn’t like he told me that was what he was going to do for my birthday, he asked if i’d like to go out for dinner on my birthday, if i had said no b/c i had too much school work (which is very probable) he would’ve gotten me a $30 hoodie for my birthday.
i know it’s the thought that counts, but i don’t think he put any thought into it, and it’s not like we just started dating and he may not know my style. on the likely chance that i’m being materialistic, i feel hurt that i’m on an extremely limited budget and i worked to get him his gifts, but he has a full time job and he spent $30 on me which makes me feel like i’m not worth the investment or something special.
initially i wasn’t going to say anything but it’s still bothering me, so i was wondering if i should say something and how i should say it, or if i should just keep it to myself.

I think the conclusion I’ve come to is that I’m not going to say anything to him about this specific gift because I don’t want to hurt his feelings, but in a few weeks or the first week of December I’m going to suggest we open accounts in Amazon.com in which we could create individual wish lists. This way it will take the question out of what the other one would like. I’ll mention that we don’t necessarily need to get something from the others list, but it could be used as a reference point, a way to take the guess work out of the holiday’s, and if it works well we could keep it for other holiday’s, birthday’s, etc.
I heard that Diablo 3 has an anti piracy mechanism that basically allows one user per household, or one computer per household. Is this true? If so do I have to buy an additional copy of Diablo so me and my brothers could play?
I purchased Diablo 3 on my old computer. Now I have a new one. I can only install the client.. Not download the whole game.. How do I download it on my new computer? I’ve looked for a license key in my hotmail but can’t find it. Help please?
Hey there, I’ll just give you a little background on what I’m dealing with for context..
Me: 27
Her: 24
- Dated this girl for 18 months (very positive, great relationship for the most part..not without struggles but nothing that approached high-tension or breakup).
- Spoke up in May after she threw me on the backburner (would hang out with me at odd hours because of her work schedule but always find time for new friends on the weekends and get offended when I’d ask to take her out on the weekend (one day)).
- Things didn’t feel right to me, so I went with my instinct and then realized that she was looking for a way out of the relationship without actually losing the relationship benefits.
- She wanted ‘space’ which I was cool with, I pulled No Contact on her and she caved within a few days.. or so I thought..
- Two weeks of up-and-down, mostly good chemistry but not that relationship vibe. Thought we were back together as she told me she wanted to be only to find out that the joke was on me and I was the only one who knew about this– she was still playing the field to some degree.

I’ll try and keep this to the point as it is very complex. I must state that my mother has professional connections to the Social Work Community Services Department therefore i feel i have a duty………read on. OK met a girlfriend when i was 14 and she was 13 years old. We split up as many young relationships do after a few weeks, if i remember she ended it with me
Now we are 28 and 27 respectively and have been together over 1 and a half years. It has become apparent by her admission that she was sexually abused by what sounds like a drug rape as she could not move when raped.

GUILT ADMITTED) and more to the point, i told them EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN IRELAND. They were panicking. Their response was to call her a liar outright and disappear away from that hospital and it has never been mentioned to my girlfriend, nor have they wanted to know who done it. Here is how I generally plan to raise my kids. i’m sorry it is long but I just want my kids to be successful and smart like me, but I heard if you’re too strict they can be corrupt. Please read and tell me if I’m being too strict. I’ve sorted it by age:
Infancy (Newborn to 1 year): Play classical music when they sleep, I heard it makes them smarter. enforce walking and talking, children who speak earlier are more likely to be smarter. (I spoke at 8 months) SLeep whenever possible.
Toddler hood (2 years to 4 years): Play with them, punish them if they do something bad. Explain the importance of school. Take him to museums and art galleries, regale them about tales of history and science. Sleep whenever possible.
Childhood (5 years to 9 years): Enforce age appropriate clothing. If they curse, they will be punished for two weeks: punishment is You get home from school, do hw, and then study and go to sleep, no friends or computer or TV privileges. The same if they backtalk to me and my wife. If they do not get A’s and Bs on schoolwork, they will receive a scolding, and possibly a 3 day punishment. If they are hanging out with bad people I will talk to them about it, and I feel they can resist the temptation, I will allow them to hang out with these people, however if they can’t stop their relationship will end. A cavity means lack of hygiene and will receive a 1 day suspension and the humility of me checking their teeth after brushing (And don’t say that’s not possible, I’m 27 and I have never had cavities, my mother is 48 and has never had cavities). Bedtime: 8:00 in early childhood, 9:00 in late childhood)
Pre adolescence (10-12): Age appropriate clothing. I will smell them when they arrive home from school or parties, if I smell drugs, cigarette, or alcohol, they will be grounded for 3 months: school, hw, and sleep. No bad kids. If they do not get A’s or B’s in school, they will be scolded and possibly punished for three days. Backtalk is unacceptable and will result in a two week punishment, cursing will result in a one week punishment. I will explain to them about sex at this age. However, if they mention they are having sex I will observe them whenever I can’t, and I will not allow them to have sex until after marriage or if they really love their boyfriend/girlfriend. I will smell you, if I catch whiffs of cigarette, drugs, or alcohol, you will be grounded for five months: You will come home, do hw, and go to bed, no parties, nothing, and your car will be taken away. Also, they will be taken to a rehabilitation program. If you get a ticket, I will take away your car. If you exceed the speed limit and I catch you, grounded for a week. No texting unless an emergency. You can take phone calls but on a bluetooth. That is my plan to keep my kids safe and responsible. Backtalk will receive in a three week punishment.
