What We Played for Week Ending May 20

This is a weekly segment where we share what  we are currently playing for our readers to get to know us a bit better. Said  can range from retro to current and from casual to FPS .

If we’re playing it, we’ll share it. Please feel free to comment with what you’re playing or your opinions on the games that we’re involved with.

As a bonus, there’s a Diablo 3 Guest Pass code within this article. If you’re the lucky one to get to it first, please comment below to let other know so they don’t waste their time trying, thanks! To use the code, go to www.Diablo3.com/guest and make sure you have a battle.net account before entering the guess pass code.

Jeff: I’ve been away from my consoles this week, but that didn’t stop me from taking some time in Batman: Arkham City and getting a few upgrades in Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. Otherwise, I’ve been occupied with Duke Nukem 3D, which went free for a few days this week on the App Store. The old-school design doesn’t work very well on the touch screen, and the small screen and cramped controls resulted in several wasted shotgun shells just exploring for a panel most likely obscured by my thumb. As a piece of gaming history, it’s interesting to see, but I don’t see myself getting involved enough to play more than a few more levels.

Greg: This week has been split between Diablo 3 and Max Payne 3. Both fantastic games. Diablo 3 has been quite fun, although definitely moreso with friends rather than solo. Max Payne 3 is really, really good. Review coming as soon as I finish it, but the quick version: Go buy this game if you like cinematic stories and amazing gunplay.

Brittany: Awesomenauts and Call of Duty.

Charles: I’VE BEEN PLAYING MASS EFFECT 3. THE BEST 3 OF ALL TIME.

Jen: My PC has been getting some use, allowing the 360 some time off. I’ve been going back and forth with Star Wars: The Old Republic and Diablo 3. When I get tired of playing SWTOR, I’ll switch to Diablo 3. Loving it so far, save for some minor details. Really wish there was a feature to save whenever. Its very helpful to have that feature, especially when playing right before work. Not a fan of running to a checkpoint (hopefully finding one in time), knowing that the servers are going to be taken down, which happened on Friday night. Had about a five minute warning before a server reset. I should be able to play a solo game without worry of a server reset or hiccup. I’m enjoying playing the game solo for now, but would love to get a group together to play it sometime. If you would like to try it out, I might have something for you. If you’ve been following my Twitter feed, you’ll know what this is for: VJ2EX9-47DR-RDRJXW-ZPJ9-9PGYVD. This code will allow you to play up until the Skeleton King boss in Act I. Enjoy!

Ryan: This past week, I was on a roll beating games I had yet to beat. Gears of War 3 on insane, Super Mario 1 and 2, The Lost Levels, Beautiful Katamari, and then Gears 3: RAAM’s Shadow. I think that’s the most gaming I’ve done in 15 years. It was nice.

Jake: Diablo 3. Duh. Part of me is missing TERA, truth be told, but…Diablo 3 so good…

Ben: Diablo 3. End of discussion.

End of discussion indeed.
