I went to a number of dealerships nowadays for check drives seeking for a great gasoline millage vehicle and when I stopped into dodge/chrysler I discovered they do not even make any very good mpg autos the 200 becoming the smallest only tends to make 20 town 30 hwy. Every Little Thing else on the good deal was V6 and V8 chargers and challengers. If gas prices go up once more these businesses are heading to go under. Now I can see why people are buying Toyotas and Honda’s.

What establishes which automobile comes beneath this banner? Sure I know 4×4′s are classed into this class whats the cut off position miles per gallon? weight? manifeste mis- conception? Furthermore if 4×4′s are not a affordable each day automobile then nor may well i mention are 2 seater sports cars. A 4×4 is typically owned and maintained by people who tow, are we now going to class caravans as enhancements to gas guzzlers and consequently penalised and turn out to be akin to anti social delinquents?

Seriously, it seems to me that the people complaining the most, are the one’s abusing the gas supply/demand the most! But maybe people don’t agree with me on this? Is this just my personal bias?

This might also be a “class” issue, because I live in a lower-middle class and working class community and I see so many SUVs and big trucks driving around. I was told that closer to colleges there are more hybrids and economy cars than luxury and SUVs. But I personally don’t know if this is true.

Long and well thought-out answers are valued more here. Take your time, I can’t even pick an answer until tomorrow.

Look around and see all of the new vehicles in America. Look at the gas guzzlers that are becoming so popular. Even R.V. s have been coming more popular. If our economy is so bad, where are they getting the money to purchase these vehicles? Where are they getting the money to pay for gas?

  5. What determines which vehicle comes under this banner? Yes I know 4×4′s are classed into this category whats the cut off point miles per gallon? weight? public mis- conception? Additionally if 4×4′s are not a reasonable everyday vehicle then nor might i mention are 2 seater sports cars. A 4×4 is generally owned and maintained by people who tow, are we now going to class caravans as enhancements to gas guzzlers and therefore penalised and become akin to anti social delinquents?

  6. 0blunder says clunkers need to be destroyed — not used by poor people and not resold with the proceeds given to the poor.

  7. Although electric cars look to have amazing acceleration, they make the same noise my radio controlled model makes. I can envisage petrol-heads buying sound systems to make them play the sound of a big 6 litre gas guzzling monster. Or has it been done already?

  8. are there any inventive mechanics out there that can make a hydrogen or electric hybrid out of a fuel guzzler ? I know in cold areas such as alaska and north Dakota we had engine heaters that you could plug in to your house outlet …necessity the mother of invention…why not a plug in hybrid homemade
