TERA Promises Improved Early Level Play, Adjusted Storyline To Reveal Deeper Lore

While there’s a general consensus that we enjoyed our time with  at , there was a concern that we’d be playing a more akin to Dynasty Warriors than an . However, a new blog post from TERA‘s official website shines some light on the issue, possibly even giving us hope for a questing experience unlike any other MMORPG.

Among the features highlighted in the short blog post are:

  • Playable Prologue: You become part of a beach landing gone awry. Can you save your allies and prevent a military disaster?
  • Badder Bosses: New tactics and deadlier attacks from early-level foes. You’ll earn those levels.
  • Quest Variety: Dozens of new quests that take TERA far beyond repetitive “hunt,” “gather,” and “deliver” tasks, and reveal the world’s rich history and cultures

It appears as though the experience we’ll find in TERA will be more akin to an  over an MMORPG, though we’re quite curious to see how that’ll end up in terms of the end game content TERA will feature.  With the open coming up this weekend, we’ll all be able to find out for ourselves what’s in store before the game’s May 1st release.

  1. How do I move all that is in my previous a hundred G HD to the new 1 Tera HD, such as the XP system?

  2. ….. Is there one? Or is it only a closed beta prior to release ? And its a circumstance of obtaining lucky and becoming picked for access ?
I know you have to at least pre purchase it. Im prepared to do that.
If an individual could make clear how it will all work out, havent played an mmo for a couple of years considering that lotro now and been absent from the scene. All a little bit confusing. Specially this Tera. But looks great.

  3. I want the trending OFF my computer. It helps make my mail web page shift up and down constantly. It has induced me to delete factor I wished by heading the page when I went to click. How do I disable/ block/remove/get rid of the trending function on my yahoo e mail page?

I can’t decide between Tera or Guild Wars 2. But Tera seems to have better game play/combat System. Does Guild Wars 2 have the same combat system/ game play as Tera. You know like instead of clicking your move then watch what happens in Tera you fully control your character.

  9. I’m buying myself an Xbox 360 for my bday on Monday. My favorite type of games are RPG, but I also like action games.
What are your favorites, and which do you think I might enjoy playing?

  10. Tera comes out on May 3rd here in the EU how can I convince my mum to let me have the day off to play it. It is my birthday in May so that could be a early present but please help
The problem with pretending to be ill is that I need her to buy me the game at midnight and I do not drive so I wouldn’t be able to go get it myself

  11. It was released and Pandemic played against another team. Characters would lean strangely to one side when turning and running. It wasn’t Guild Wars as that is more button-based with delays. This game failed to attract a large-enough audience. It’s a short title. I can’t remember.

I have Crisis Core and love it. Something very similar to this would be great! As far as turn based, I have Persona 3 Portable and I really love it too, but prefer the action RPG.

I don’t find the level up and stat growth through level up system unrealistic. Action-RPG’s are already quite realistic. But has there been one without a level up system?
@Carter I know that in Final Fantasy X you don’t truly level up but your sphere grid levels up (it’s really hard to get the abilities I want like Holy). What’s so different in Final Fantasy XIII, in terms of growth?

  14. From time to time I get into a great and fun PC game, my favorite genres seem to be RTS and action RPG. I am struggling to find fantastic titles though, I have played many. Fable, diablo, gothic, mass effect, warcraft, starcraft, dune, command and conquer et cetera. If you have a game you love, I’d enjoy hearing about it.

  15. By action rpg, i mean NOT an rpg turn based game. Can you also make sure its in english.
The action rpg games i’ve already played:
    1) tales of innocence
    2) the world ends with you
    3) blue dragon: awakened shadow

Please, please, please make sure its an action rpg game and not a turn based game.
    thanks in advanced.

  16. I recently stopped playing WoW (World of Warcraft) — thankfully! They game started to get boring.

Anyway, I have started to play Mass Effect and I really like the game – I am looking forward to Mass Effect 2!!! The series (in my mind) is a good combo of RPG and real-time action.

What is your favorite RPG, Action or other game?

FYI – I play on a PC or Mac.

    Thanks!
    Jay
