One Finger Death Punch, the Indie Game that Allows You to Beat Up a Thousand Dudes

Have you ever wanted to beat up a thousand dudes? How about kick someone through a pillar? Well, if your answer is yes, Silver Dollar Games might have a game for you. One Finger Death Punch is an on-rails fighter in the works for Xbox Live . While still months away from completion, the game has some promising thus far.

There have been many improvements in One Finger Death Punch since the first trailer for the game was released (which can be viewed at the bottom of the article). One of those improvements is the bloodshed in the game. Someone commented on the first trailer, “needs more blood,” so Silver Dollar Games delivered by changing the blood effects, adding throwing attacks for some of the weapons, and adding a trap that decapitates the enemies.

Some have said that they wish that the characters in One Finger Death Punch were larger, and therefore Silver Dollar Games added brawls; mini-fights that occur when an enemy with a crown above his head is attacked. While brawling, the screen zooms in, which makes the fight more personal. Silver Dollar Games spent their time making sure that entering and exiting brawls is seamless and feels like the rest of the game by orienting the enemies on either the left or right of the screen according to the X/B combo players press, and by making the brawls come and go quickly.

New buildings for each stage have been created so that players have the ability to kick their opponents through glass, wood, stone pillars, and even a barrel. Once all breakable objects are destroyed, more objects, buildings, and traps fall from the sky or rise from the ground, like a stage of a play transitioning from scene to scene.

The second trailer for One Finger Death Punch highlights gameplay from the “extreme” mode. In the extreme mode, raw skills guide players as there are no button guides.

As of now, the game mechanics for One Finger Death Punch are almost complete, and Silver Dollar Games is working on 21 passive abilities that players can collect, a world map that allows players to explore and choose different level paths, and another bonus stage.
