Small Start-Up game companies are seeing more opportunity now than ever before. Notion Games is one of these Start-Ups. These groups shouldn’t come as any surprise in today’s indie environment, so instead of focusing on the fact that they’re a bunch of guys following their dream, I’m going to focus on what they’ve got to give us. At the moment, that is Team Notion.
Team Notion is a “2D side scrolling beat ‘em up”. The classic example I use of this genre is Streets of Rage. A great game to be sure, but these games used to be rather popular in the Arcade setting. However, as Notion Games points out in their Kick Starter video, this genre has fallen by the wayside.

If you don't remember this, trust me, it was awesome.
Why is this? Well, that’s not for me to say, but I know that these guys are taking a cool approach to the genre.
Traditional beat ‘em ups took themselves quite seriously most of the time.
Notion Games, however, is taking a much more fun approach. Utilizing an artistic approach that is clearly inspired by modern television cartoons, Team Notion looks like it hits on all of the most appealing aspects of this genre.
If you’ve an interest in lots of good old fashion clobberin’, be it fueled by nostalgia or not, Notion Games could be a group to keep your eyes on, at the very least.
If you’re interested, go check them out on Kick Starter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1331957958/team-notion-the-game

Offering a child a sensation of morality is important, I can see that, but I clearly reject the notion that 1 ought to warp a child’s ability to perceive fact by making use of worry based indoctrination techniques involving fantasy beings and absurd afterlife scenarios. Sure, it tends to make a child realize morality and it helps make them recognize that their steps have consequences, but at what cost? What cost, I consult you? What cost to the individual, what expense to our nation and what expense to humanity as a whole?
I’m really struggling with this for my bioethics class. After watching a brief 3 minute video of a cancer patient being poked, prodded & evaluated by a team of doctors making their rounds, we’re supposed to identify & discuss the ethical issues related to the notion of the patient as person. I’m really stuck & could use some help getting started. I appreciate all serious suggestions & comments!
I’m tired of stupid announcers saying oh Brett Favre is just out there having fun or Tom Brady is having fun. These players make millions it has nothing to do with having fun. My high school football team got our tails kicked every Friday night we were having fun and couldn’t win one stinking game all season so having fun does not lead to success.
CHARGE OF THE LITE BRIGADE
It’s easy to see where TNA’s ECW revolution is heading: Tommy Dreamer is going to wind up in charge under the guise of Paul E. Lite, and a whole lot of TNA stalwarts are going to flee to the new Wilpon promotion.
Emboldened by Impact’s latest rating – only a total twit would be encouraged by a tenth-of-a-point gain, but Dixie Carter qualifies – Dreamer will convince Dixie he can do what Heyman would, but without firing anyone and anyway, Tommy booked a lot more of the original ECW than he was given credit for (yeah, right).
Dreamer is pure mid-card, if that, but what an amazing opportunist. Hey, he married Beulah.
It’s insane to think that this salute or that style is anything beyond stop-gap but, like I said, we can all see where this is going. A lot of TNA performers have certainly caught said drift. Many want NOTHING to do with EV2, some vociferously so. You think Hulk Hogan wants his bald spot caved in by a Singapore cane? Wilpon is the next mark, and hasn’t yet had a chance to lose faith in the usual suspects.
But he will. He will.
Parenthetically speaking, Hogan’s current situation is a mess, if rumors are to be believed. He reportedly made a lump-sum divorce settlement to his wife, Linda, who used some of that dough to buy her way out of the car-wreck lawsuit. Said infusion of cash enabled the aggrieved to lawyer up and continue suing Hulk. Stuck with a mansion he can’t sell, Hogan is allegedly in deep, deep financial trouble and, for the first time, that last big match isn’t out there.
Every time I criticized Hogan back when, I was sternly reminded, “That man enabled us all to make a lot of money.” Maybe those same people will pass the hat for Hulk. Or maybe the sun will fall out of the sky. If guys like Bischoff, Heenan and Okerlund learned one thing from Hogan, it was “Every man for himself.”
If you want to see the face of truth, check out Raven when all this ECW gaga permeates TNA TV. He looks like a shoplifter. Those guys are stealing. Scotty knows it, and he can’t hide it.
Hey, where’s Kimona? Her, I would like to see.
The “success” of EV2 on TNA will probably spawn another series of “Hardcore Homecoming” indie shows. Can’t wait. At least TNA will have successfully promoted SOMETHING.
Bruce Mitchell of Pro Wrestling Torch is writing an excellent series on how to fix TNA, and he makes one particular point I’d like to expand upon – the crowd at the Impact Zone wouldn’t like the necessary changes. So what? They’re freeloaders, and they’re holding back TNA. You can’t let one crowd in one arena dictate your big picture
THE SLOP DROP
Samoa Joe’s suspension from TNA isn’t a story. Who cares?
But that Joe – a total nobody in the big picture – felt conceited enough to throw a series of tantrums shows how the Internet wrestling community has twisted the business.
Joe sucks. Always has. He’s an ugly, fat bastard who speaks haltingly and unconvincingly. Overwrought facials, too. He looks tough, and works tight, but big deal. He’s never drawn. Never been on the big show. He’s a NOBODY.
But Joe believes his own BS. Joe’s BS was birthed and nurtured by the IWC. I’ve never talked to ANYONE, not ONE SINGLE PERSON legitimately connected to wrestling, who thought Joe was anything even remotely special. But the IWC latched onto his work in ROH, embraced it, embellished it and appraised Joe as a big star. Joe believed it.
The IWC was wrong. Joe was wrong. He sucks. Forget the suspension. TNA should fire his fat, frumpy ass. WWE would NOT come calling.
PAY UP, SUCKERS
I need to write a book. To wit – before going to work for WWE, Trish Stratus interviewed with WCW. I was there. It was before a PPV in Toronto. WWE didn’t even know who she was at the time. Why didn’t Trish work for WCW?
I know why. Someday I’ll tell – for $25.95, hardcover.
I didn’t write it Mark did just know some people read his column’s.I was just wanting to know why he is always down on TNA so much?
Whats the difference between indie kids and hipster kids?
Ok so i no that they both listen to like 100 bands that no one has ever heard of, and i no that they both wear like vintage clothes and, and i know that they both have like messy hair with side bangs.
so really whats the difference?

Also have good beat and good guitar? if possible thanks

Foals- Balloons
Arctic Monkeys- View from the afternoon

Please really need some desperate for new music 10 points straight away to best answer.
I’m doing a feature article for my school newspaper on the top 10 indie bands of all time. Got any suggestions? Just post a list, and I’ll compare them all. Thanks.
I’ve noticed that a couple of more obscure bands put one or two free songs on their Facebook page, and I was wondering if anyone knew of some good ones who did.
Interested in indie rock (indie folk, alt rock).
Please don’t answer unless you actuall do know of an indie rock band with a free song available for download.
Anywhere on the internet (legally) would be okay. Just please provide links.
I want a different hair style and I like the indie theme. I sadly have a little bit of a scrunchie face and a round head so to me, a lot of styles don’t look good on me. Any suggestions?
I want to do game design for a living, I think indie games might be a good place to start, if not let me know. Otherwise, how would I get started? What would I need to do to make an indie game and get it on XBL or just a flash game for some website. I’d really like some tips if you could help me out.
Also would I need a group of people to help make one, or just myself. Any tips will help, thanks in advance.
By indie studio I mean something like Playdead Studios (who created Limbo)
By big time studio I mean something like Rockstar Games (who created Red Dead: Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV)
What exactly makes the indie developer considered indie?
Came out in the 00′s. I don’t really know many details of it, but it involves a zombie romance towards the end of it. Indie band…Ummm, that’s all I got. I think I saw it on MTV2 or MTV U.
