Bully, an award winning film directed by Lee Hirsch, will open in theaters this Friday, March 30th in select markets. The movie has already done wonders for the anti-bullying campaign, with celebrity support from Ellen DeGeneres, Justin Bieber, Meryl Streep, Anderson Cooper, Kelly Ripa, Demi Lovato, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria Justice, Billie Jean King, as well 17-year old Katy Butler as she attempts to have the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) bring down the movie’s rating from “R” to “PG-13;” to date she has sent a petition to the MPAA with over 400,000 signatures.
The Weinstein Company, the studio behind the film, has announced that it has partnered with Bing, Microsoft‘s search engine, in an effort to help push forward the anti-bullying campaign across the country. Together, a multi-million dollar multimedia campaign will be launched, featuring TV spots, social media posts, and online videos that tell the stories of Katy Butler, as well as how widespread and hurtful bullying is in schools today.

I’m honestly curious, the liberals and the like are pretty well documented but I haven’t heard a lot from the world of conservative. Not looking to start a flame war.
Never before have I seen so much anti bullying discussion in the media. Wish they had this when I was growing up. It’s nice that they’re trying to stop it, but really, can they stop mean people from following their nature?

Basically the film will show the victim being bullied and then it will show the victim realizing she is not the only victim of bullying out there. It will show her seeing other victims.
