The enjoyment market is decadent and depraved
By: John Scala
Broadcast television, the motion picture theatre, celeb gossip magazines, the American population is primarily based on and obsessed with continual entertainment. Is it a surprise that we are all virtually worshipping the lackadaisical figures that are aspect of our daily lives?
Boredom; an obstacle every person has been faced with, many, on a everyday basis. The disorder can not be cured, but can be treated. A Single of the most generally practiced treatment options is the mindless self-indulgent instrument of assumed killing, the television. Millions, on hundreds of thousands tune in each and every night to escape their daily lives, the exact purpose individuals smoke meth. So as the population stares blankly in to the television screen, and as a coma like trance little by little takes them away from it all, they die, just a little bit more.
Nearly every single simple one particular of us is aspect of the tv generation, we grew up on cartoons, and other programs that held us from being grievance ridden with boredom. By Means Of are adolescence, we grew up with our eyes glued to the screen. Some of us nonetheless are watching our preferred programs, rather of socializing, reading, or taking part in life. According to an Linked Press sponsored poll taken in 2007, a single in 4 Americans read not a simple guide the preceding year, and seventy-five percent of these who did, read no more than four. The American men and women are turning into a lot more and far more oblivious and idiotic as time passes.
Our nations college method is failing – practically – this is meant to be the biggest country in the world, so why are our college students demonstrated by a statistical average to be around a C average? Some might say the purpose other countries, these kinds of as: Finland, South Korea, Japan, and Canada’s test scores and typical IQ’s are so drastically higher than the U.S.’s is due to the fact of the huge volume of the immigrant population right here in the US. This is true, but only to a specific extent – especially here in Arizona – but I think there is but a single factor to blame; the entertainment industry.
MTV was formulated and 1st broadcasted on a national degree for the duration of the early 80’s, it has throughout its time on the air, killed much more brain cells than each and every single illegal substance combined. The nations decreasing intelligence is even demonstrated through: its most well-known genre of music, its favored tv stations, and its preferred movies. Not only are our peers glued to the display screen – but our parents, our grandparents, and even our great-grandparents.
“So we don’t go out anymore. We sit in the house, and little by little the planet we reside in gets smaller, and all we ask is please, at minimum leave us on your own in our personal residing rooms. Permit me have my toaster and my TV and my hairdryer and my steel-belted radials, and I won’t say anything, just leave us alone.” Main character Howard Beale of the movie Network ranted. “So, pay attention to me! Television is not the truth! Television is a goddamned amusement park, that’s what tv is! Tv is a circus, a carnival, a touring troupe of acrobats and story-tellers, singers and dancers, jugglers, side-show freaks, lion tamers and football players. We’re in the boredom-killing business! If you want truth, go to God, go to your guru, go to by yourself simply because that is the only location you will actually find any actual truth! But, man, you might be by no means going to get any real truth from us. We’ll inform you nearly anything you want to hear. We lie like hell! We’ll inform you Kojack always will get the killer, and nobody ever before will get most cancers in Archie Bunker’s house. And no matter how considerably boueux the hero is in, do not worry: just search at your watch — at the conclude of the hour, he is heading to win. We’ll inform you any shit you want to hear! We offer in illusion, man! None of it’s true! But you folks sit there — all of you — day soon after day, night following night, all ages, colors, creeds — we’re all you know. You’re beginning to imagine this illusion we’re spinning here. You Might Be starting to believe the tube is actuality and your individual lives are unreal. You do no matter what the tube tells you. You gown like the tube, you eat like the tube, you increase your kids like the tube, you assume like the tube. This is mass madness, you maniacs! In God’s name, you individuals are the real thing! We’re the illusions!”
The television, the movie theatres, and the world wide web is all we know, they are the final equipment of propaganda. Our nation is so fixed, that the tv can make or break a presidential candidate, can end or start a war, and to spot that significantly electricity – in to this sort of couple of peoples hands. Nothing At All but corruption can be spawned, so make sure you reader, examine a book, read a newspaper, go discuss to human beings, but previously mentioned all of that – turn off your televisions.

Does anyone know where I can find that? Or does anybody even remember seeing that? It wasn’t that long ago, maybe 3 years or so?

This is my Netflix list.
OK, Its really about half of my Netflix list.
For Christmas 1999 I got a “collector’s set” of Coca Cola I guess you could call it, 6 traditional glass bottles with Cola in them and beer-bottle type caps that say “1999 Edition.” I drank 3 bottles and kept the remaining 3.
The cap says AU2100RVD so it’s definately past expiry (August 21, 2000… unless it means August year 2,100.) Is that more for legal purposes than anything else?
I imagine it has completely lost all the fizz, but it still LOOKS okay to drink. Do you think it’s safe to do so? I realize the taste will have diminished to some degree.
Alternatively, what value would be assigned to such an unopened 8 year old bottle of Coke? What about 3 unopened bottles, 3 empty bottles that still have their caps, and the paper box/crate with handle that they came in? Say if I were to put it up on eBay, what do you think I’d get?
I hold no one responsible for their opinions regarding the safety of drinking expired Coca Cola.
This is exactly what I have
http://medford.craigslist.org/clt/531775522.html
There is no mold and it shows no signs of age. If someone offered it to me and I didn’t see the “1999 Edition”, I would think it was brand new.
Hi everyone. I’m 15 and I’ve been looking around for a part-time (a few nights a week and weekends) job. I’m such a movie-freak, and thought that maybe a job at a movie theater would be great. It would be my first job. The closest one to me is a Multiplex Cinemas, which is owned by the National Amusements Company.
I live in NJ, where you can work at age 14/15 with working papers, though most establishments have personal policies hiring 16 year olds at the youngest. I was hoping someone on here might know about this specific company’s policy regarding age requirements. Please answer if you know!
Thank you!
Well, you can. Please go to http://www.filmmetro.com and sign up for an account. Then find you state and reserve your tickets to a movie. Also, go to http://www.gofobo.com and sign up for an account there too. Enter your zip code and RSVP for the screening. I won tickets to “Mall Cop” on Wednesday, “Defiance” on Thursday, and “Inkheart” on Saturday.
Here’s a second site if you wanna see the movie “Defiance”
