Kojima Productions Hiring for new Metal Gear- Next Gen and PC Likely

“Big Boss Wants You!” says the opening text on the Konami Japan website, as announce their intention to start work on a new game. The text is accompanied by a picture of the aforementioned Big Boss- who is pointing at the reader in a distinctly Uncle Sam-esque manner- calling on to visit Kojipro’s booth at this year’s .  Unsurprisingly, the image also confirms that the recently developed Fox Engine will be used to power the game.

Concrete details are scare, but logical speculation can certainly be gleaned from the project’s job requirements page. Two things stand out immediately. First is the use of the phrase “next gen” with regards to senior and graphics engineers. Second is the mention of the new game being, “targeted for high-end and .” It wouldn’t make sense for Kojipro to refer to current machines as “next generation” considering they’re now around 5-6 years old, so surely this confirms the game’s place on proper next-generation ?

The wording also implies that the game’s place on PC is assured- a surprise considering the platform has never had a Metal Gear game released day-in-date with its cousins. Could this be an indication of Fox Engine’s flexibility?

Another interesting tidbit is the listing for a “network programmer”. This suggests that the new game may include some kind of multiplayer component. It’s plausible that this could be tied into ’s recent decision to axe Metal Gear Online.

A final point of note is the “classified” envelope sitting ominously at the top of the page. Clicking on it brings up a picture of Big Boss, who is standing next to a dog of some sort. Boss’ furry friend is also depicted on the emblem sitting on his sleeve. The dog motif possibly hints at links to Foxhound- the military unit that Big Boss canonically established during the early 1970′s. Curiously, he also seems to be crushing something in his left hand, but I’ll leave you to figure out the symbolism in that…

So, is it too early to get feverishly excited about the prospect of a new Metal Gear? Should it hit current consoles rather than next-gen? And where could the story logically go after MGS: Peace Walker? Spill your brains into the comments below.

*If Cash and time had been not an issue*

First Question: With the new engineering [PS3, Xbox 360, PC] we have now is it possible for a sport developer to make a game with the greatest quality without having losing any recreation quality? And if so how can they obtain this?

    Example:

    - Excellent video game perform [story, video game features, physics]?

    - Fantastic graphics [looks virtually like real]?

    - Entertaining to play?

    - Wonderful on the web play?

    - Best frames per 2nd and TV Resolution support [60fps and 1080p]?

*Please clarify your remedy and also make sure you present your source of information*

I asked this problem due to the fact some video games can operate at 60fps and have actually amazing graphics, but the rest of the game quality isn’t all that wonderful and some game titles only run at 30fps, but have excellent video game features.

Second Question: Which recreation building firm would have the greatest chance to achieve this:

    - Rockstar North?

    - Kojima Productions?

    - Bungie Software?

    - Epic Games?

    - 2K Games?

  3. Do you think it could be viewed as brown nosing? All the managers have been throwing parties to which they invite me and my family so I was thinking of reciprocating. The big boss has not been invited to these parties but he is very nice and that’s why I want to invite him but I don’t want to give the wrong impression. Thanks.

  4. I’m not too high on the totem pole at work, and the BIG, BIG boss is hosting a holiday party of his own.

    1) Should I bring something or come empty-handed?
    2) If so, any ideas???

I’m going alone, so there will be no group gift.

  5. I heard it and in the last 5 or 4 minutes, someone (I think its Sean) said that on the 2nd of June, Kojima Production is going somewhere and Sean said that there is going to be a surprise. If you heard integral podcast 13 then answer this question:

    1) Where is Kojima productions going?
    2) Do you think the surprise is MGS 5!?!?!

  6. If you try to get from Torogbad to Mirandel there’s a shoot ‘em up mini game but I keep getting caught by the Big Boss. Can anyone help before I lose my mind?!
    Brilliant game by the way!

  7. Said you have 10 years of working experience, and your boss almost know nothing in your line. The only reason that he is your boss just because he is related to your big boss. Most of the time he is the pain in your butt.

  8. The lady in big boss 5 vida samdzai (indian big boss that is) seem to be not an indian one. What is her native and where does she hail from. Is she some struggler or model or actress or what ?
