ARG Zombies, GPS Alternate Reality Game, Is Looking For A Kickstart

Well here’s an interesting idea.

Tando Productions LLC is prepping to begin their Kickstarter page for their upcoming GPS based game, Arg Zombies.

On March 1st, the indie developer will begin asking for funding for their zombie game that will use the GPS features on your specific device and allow you to combat with zombies and enemies based on where you currently are in the country. Plow though white collar businessmen in New York City, or Amish farmers in rural Pennsylvania.

Arg Zombies is the brainchild of Owen Morris, who came up with the idea for the game while deployed in Southern Afghanistan. Joined by fellow marines and his brother, he’s hoping the Kickstarter campaign will allow them to further pursue their dreams in mobile gaming, aiming to push the mobile platform’s limits.

With the promise of hiding certain monsters in certain cities and the game’s world being a persistent online world, ARG Zombies has quickly jumped on my radar. Hopefully me and my HTC Thunderbolt can get our hands on it soon. The company’s press release only mentions the iPhone has a platform, so fingers crossed for Android folk like myself.

Here’s a video of Owen’s pitch to the public:
