Star Wars: Battlefront III Rumors – Here We Go Again

I thought this rumor was squashed…guess not.

Multiple sources are reporting that Spark Unlimited is currently working on the third entry in the : Battlefront series. While this rumor is somewhat old, we now have some proof.

First, there’s this job listing:

Spark is looking for a senior combat designer for a 3rd Person Action/Adventure sequel in a high-profile science fiction franchise currently greenlit for full production development for 360, PS3 and markets.

Then, there’s the LinkedIn page of former Senior Software Engineer for Spark Unlimited, John Lawrie:

Unannounced third person sword fighting (well known IP, Xbox 360, PS3)

A second LinkedIn page confirms that the Spark Unlimited title is a shooter.

So let’s piece this together, shall we? Well known Sci-Fi IP shooter with sword fighting that also happens to be a sequel.

I don’t know about you, but it sounds a lot like Star Wars to me. Especially when the unnaounced game’s publisher had this to say:

Publisher hasn’t stated when or where the announcement will take place…The time and place could be close or far, far away.

    I heard it’s being developed by Spark Unlimited now? I know it was abandoned 2 years ago though.

    Random question why did they make Star Wars 4,5 and 6 before 1,2,3?

    I get daily updates from Google telling me the latest update on “Star Wars Battlefront 3″
    Over at http://www.battlefront3.net it apears that Spark Unlimited is making the game.
    But i thought that they announced the game they were making was XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
    Or are they making another game at the same time because i noticed on the spark website there are two projects going but it hasn’t been updated in while so does anyone know if there will be SWBF3?

    I have been playing battlefront 2 for years and this is the only thing that confuses me. I switch my guy and go back into battle but I am at a different base. I did not die so there was not minimap to choose what post to start at.
