Disneyland to Celebrate Leap Year With 24 Hours of Festivities

2012 happens to be a leap year.

And with the extra day, Disney is going to take advantage of it by keeping both Disneyland and Disney World open for 24 hours, calling it “One More Disney Day.”

In addition to the extra day of Disney fun, from January 1st to February 29th, Disney is going to pick a daily winner for the “Disney Parks One More Disney Day” sweepstakes. Every winner will win a vacation for four for either the Disneyland or the Disney World Resort.

“We’re honored that so many guests have shared their Disney memories with us as part of ‘Let the Memories Begin’, and I’m pleased to announce that the campaign will continue throughout 2012,” said Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs. “To celebrate, for the first time ever, the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Parks will remain open for 24 hours on Leap Day, so that our guests can take advantage of every minute of their extra day to make memories with friends and family.”

But the cool stuff doesn’t end there. Disney’s also offering a new deal for the new year:

Guests get one more day and night of memory making, free when they buy a
3-night/3-day non-discounted Walt Disney Travel Co. room and ticket
package at select Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort hotels.  The
package offer is good for arrivals most nights Feb. 26 – March 10, 2012
and must be booked by Jan. 31, 2012.

So have at it folks. Get yourself over to Disneyland now.

  2. My relative is going to start the Disney college program soon. Some family members wait to visit her later, does anyone know the discount rate for Disney world tickets for employees. I know that 3 people can get in with her for free..

  3. Ok. So i am going to disneyland in California and i dont know what rides will be open on 5/15. Do you know a website that i can look on to find out because i am trying to make an itinerary but cant untill i know what rides to go on. HELP!!!

  4. I had read somewhere, doing research for a family vacation, that Disneyland Resort hotels (Disneyland hotel, Paradise Pier or the Grand Californian) will allow you to buy souvenirs in the park and they will put them in your hotel room for you. Is this still true? Has the option changed? Any information to support this claim would be greatly appreciated.

I’m trying to plan out my Disney World vacation and I’m wondering how the parks are during the last week of January and the first week of February. How is the weather? Crowds?

Also, bonus points if anyone can tell me when Disney will have 2010 vacation booking stuff up on their website.

  6. I’m interested in going to Disneyland during the winter holidays when they have snow filling the air. I know it isn’t real snow, but I just want to experience it.

  7. I bought a certificate for a Disneyland Annual Passport from a reliable source whom I have bought other tickets from before (such as 1-day admission to the Aquarium, Disneyland, and Knott’s).

How do I get the actual card with my photograph on it? Do I get it inside the Disneyland park or California Adventure or is it outside the parks?

    Please answer thoroughly! Thank you!

  8. I’m going to disneyland california and i want pictures with as many characters as i can find. Can you tell me what characters i’m likely to see? Also, if you’ve seen any rare characters i’d love to hear about that too :)
