Nintendo, Electronic Arts, and Sony Electronics Stop backing SOPA

sopa soap

You know , the Stop Online Piracy Act, well it’s slowly losing supporters. And this time it’s big names.

, , and Electronics have all dropped the SOPA. This act, if made into law, would essentially allow companies to take down an site they think is infringing on their copyright; even if it is just a page linking to another site althogether. They could also request that the site have  its advertising and other revenue streams cut off. Even further than that, they could straight up blacklist the entire domain so that no one could visit it.

Now doesn’t that sound fun?

No.

The answer is no. No fun.

Thanks go out to , Electronic Arts, and Sony for realizing that this act goes just a little bit overboard.

Actually, although EA, Sony, and Nintendo no longer individually support SOPA… they still kinda do.

It might just be a PR stunt.

They are all apart of the ESA… and the ESA is still on that list. So technically, they DO still support SOPA.
