Today marks the launch of Epic’s latest expansion for . The ‘Shadows of Raam’ DLC adds 3 hours of brand new campaign play set prior to the events of the first game. The pack costs 1200MSP or comes free as part of the Gears of War 3 Season Pass.

However, users who have the Season Pass have noticed an issue. When prompted by the game to download the DLC it takes users a download box that requires you to pay. A note at the right hand side of the screen informs users with the Season Pass not to download the DLC here as it will charge them again. This loop keeps repeating, with the game always directing users to the wrong screen. At the moment no word has been given on how to circumvent this minor technical issue.

Keep tuned to TGF as we keep you updated on this problem and how to fix it!

*Update at 5:20 GMT*

After a little bit of a hitch the new Raam’s Shadow DLC is finally available for Season Pass holders. The message from Epic is that the issue lay on ‘s side of things, as a result any users who accidentally downloaded the DLC for a cost may be able to get a refund for the full 1200MSP.

Now that everything is up and running it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy some good ol’fashion Gears! Look for our of the DLC over the next couple of days.

  3. Yep, is a-happenin’ with me, too. I’m just waiting to here what to do about it. DLC issues seems to be a major problem for EPIC this time around. :/

this is so stupid………. i wonder if they will end up giving refunds or just saying screw you

im not happy i bought the damn pass so i wouldn’t have to wait

  6. True, this has been a major blow for those of us with the season pass. We fronted ‘good faith’ money in pre-paying for the DLC packs so to have something like this happen is understandably frustrating.

Considering Epic’s message though it does seem like Microsoft were to blame and not Epic, as such I’m happy about the overall situation. Those who fronted extra cash can get refunds, and the delay was only a matter of hours not days.

All in all. Could be worse! =]
