Rarely is a franchise as consistently captivating as The Legend of Zelda. In the 25 years since the groundbreaking seminal NES classic, Nintendo has released some of the greatest games ever made. From the timeless A Link to the Past and the nearly perfect Ocarina of Time to the ambitious art of The Wind Waker and Skyward Sword, each adventure has a defined consoles, eras, and even childhoods. Even the most jaded of gamers had to crack a smile as series creator Shigeru Miyamoto proudly displayed his award as the Zelda theme triumphantly played. Indeed, they have not only earned the right to be called “Legend,” but also to be the very first inductee into the Video Game Hall of Fame.
