Nicolas Games SA and Intoxicate Studios have announced that Afterfall: Insanity has gone gold, and will hit shelves on November 25th as scheduled. If you haven’t heard about Afterfall: Insanity or it’s bold marketing campaign, I’ll give you a quick summary.
Nicolas Games announced earlier this season that they were allowing customers to pre-order Afterfall: Insanity for $1. If they reached 10 million pre-orders, the price would stay a dollar and Nicolas Games would donate 10% ($1 million) to Amnesty International. If they do not reach their goal, the game would go back to the regular price, minus the dollar used for the pre-order, and the total of the pre-orders would be donated to charity.
Needless to say, it would take a miracle to reach 10 million pre-orders before launch, but they are sitting pretty at around 18,500 pre-orders as of this moment. That means they’ve raised $18,500 for charity. That sounds like a success story in my book, even if they didn’t reach their lofty goal of 10 million pre-orders.
But wait, there’s more! A demo of Afterfall:Insanity has been released! I’ve spent some time with the demo, and I have to say, I’m really looking forward to seeing more and getting a better idea of how the fear element, reminiscent of Amnesia, will hold up in third person perspective. You can download and check out the demo now.
I’ve already pre-ordered my copy of Afterfall:Insanity, and you can pre-order yours on their website here.
Stay tuned for a full review in the near future.
