Dead Island is the kind of game that has me scratching my head a bit. It seems to cover all its bases and bring some new things to the table. However, it’s not clear how those bases are covered and what newness might be brought to the table.

I’m sincerely hoping the story is a well handled as the lead up to the game. I’m tentatively excited.

To help ease me into the story and let me know this is like the the zombie beat-em-up plus that I’m hoping for, Deep silver has released a digital comic. I love supplemental comics!

The story in the comic introduces some back and side story about illegal activity going on Banoi prior to its deadness. Check it out here. (Fair warning: The interface for reading the comic isn’t very intuitive.)
