WWE ’12 Announced – Info, Screens, Trailer

by Ryan SmithJune 1, 2011

After years of complaints from fans about WWE’s SmackDown vs. RAW, THQ has begun listening, cutting the slack, and starting fresh — New engine, revamped gameplay, and a sleeker presentation. It’s about time, if I do say so myself.

Featuring a new “Predator Technology,” WWE ’12 features a brand new, much more dynamic animation system. If you’re in a triple threat match and your opponents are going at it, you can now stop the move being done between them by doing one of your own. You can now string together moves much more fluidly to create better move-strings. Also gone are the days of John Cena warping to the middle of the ring to perform is signature 5 Knuckle Shuffle, or The Rock to perform his People’s Elbow. THQ and Yukes are also working to improve the presentation with better camera angles (which have been a major complaint from fans), the screen graphics such as name plates, and environmental elements such as lighting to create a much more true-to-life look to the game.

With vital changes to core gameplay, innovative feature support and an incredibly striking presentation, the WWE simulation experience is back with WWE ’12” – Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President of Core Games, THQ.

EXPERIENCE THE NEW WWE! – WWE Action is redefined with new Predator Technology! This new system delivers a fresh and strategic gameplay experience that looks, feels and plays better than ever before. the gameplay you have demanded is finally here with the most fluid WWE action and realistic animations to date in a WWE videogame, improved A.I. and an all-new Breaking Point submission system!

DYNAMIC TV PRESENTATION – Witness the most electrifying presenation in all of sports entertainment. A dynamic new broadcast camera system and badder visual presentation replicate everything you see on WWE’s television broadcasts. New rendering and lighting technologies will provide the most realistic WWE Superstars, WWE Divas and WWE Legends and best-looking in-ring action to date.

CREATE AND SHARE YOUR WWE – WWE ’12’s best-in-class creation suite gives you the ability to create Superstars, entrances, finishing moves, storylines, Highlight Reels and all-new capabilities never before seen in a WWE videogame! Go online and upload your creations to share them with the WWE Universe and download creations from others to add to your own experience.

WWE UNIVERSE 2.0 – Take control of your WWE career in a bigger, badder and better WWE universe. Your actions determine your destiny and shape your experience, as storylines, matches, alliances and rivalries are built based on your decisions.

ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA – The Road to WrestleMania is fraught with action, drama, challenges, storyline twists and truns, and surprises. Which road will you pick, and what story will you tell, on your way to the biggest spectacle in sports entertainment?

It seems as though Yukes is working to really deliver something fresh this year. Fans will get their hands on the game at E3 next week, and the game will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii on November 22. In the mean time, here is the trailer and some screens to hold you over.

There was nothing more rewarding. As the PlayStation and N64 came around, his love for video games increased until it inevitably became one of his passions. Now days, much of his free time is consumed by playing on Xbox Live with friends. Here on The Game Fanatics as the Reviews Editor, Ryan gets to share his passion of videos games with all of you!
