The trailer introduces us to the mood of the game; which is darker and much more sinister than in the first one. We also see the introduction of firearms and a new type of magic.
Story Overview:
Several years after the end of Risen, humanity is pushed to the brink of existence and one of the only safe havens is Caldera, a city located on the peninsula of the Lost Realm. However, even this sanctuary is threatened by the world at chaos, as monstrous sea monsters cause shipments of vital supplies to come to a grinding halt. The hero, upon discovering a rumor that the pirates of the Southern islands know of a way to banish the creatures of the deep, journeys to infiltrate their ranks and attempt to acquire this knowledge in time to save Caldera from imminent peril.
Gameplay Highlights:
-Risen 2 features a unique, tropical fantasy setting in an open world complete with firearms, dirty tricks and a brand new situationally appropriate magic style.
-The game includes completely overhauled, sophisticated tech providing vastly improved high-res texturing, brand new weather, water and light/shadow effects, a fully revamped character animation system and an exhaustive NPC character model design which greatly reduces the chance of “clone” NPCs.
-One of the most intense, immersive game worlds ever created, Risen 2 intends to fully envelop its players in its world with a full day/night cycle, dynamic weather patterns, NPCs with daily routines who react based on your behavior, and even creature AI with routine behaviors such as scavenging and sleeping that are impacted by the time of day.
-Risen 2 allows players to shape their game experience and even the game world itself depending on their actions and choices. Every decision made has a consequence – it may change the character’s skillset, NPC relationships, or even potential questlines.
-Several unique islands, all lovingly designed by hand with no copy and paste set pieces, encourage exploration and adventure while the player hunts for secret treasures and hidden areas.

Heart racing,
feet pounding
on wet cement
in dark alley.
Faster and faster,
shoes not touching
pavement,
I’m flying.
Giana’s eyes meet mine
question is exchanged.
Why?
Shocked, she nearly stops
and pink lips open
in amazed disbelief.
“It wasn’t me!”
she screams
into the embracing night air.
Gasping for air,
she struggles,
as I dance across
pavement worn by many shoes.
Running is my soul,
my passion.
Darkly, she states
“You know who did”
and I refuse this.
I will not, can not
will never accept this.
“You’re lying!”
I accuse,
Her hair swishes
eyes roll
and head acknowledges
my foolish disbelief.
Our feet glide to the river,
in this dark, bleak night.
No moon,
faint stars,
Simply 2 teenage girls
ratty clothes,
disheveled hair
racing
from some unknown fear.
Voices once deafening
now merely whispers
like the leaves on the trees
rustling quietly
on frostbitten ground.
What seems like ages
struggling through muggy air
we arrive at the monstrous giant
whose deafening roar attacks the night
Current strong, rapids quick
it is my fear.
Giana dives like a swan
straight into the black waters
and yells for me to hurry.
But I would face death
easier than this endlessness
These black rushing waters
that never end.
Deep breath,
slow motion
as, tumbling through the air,
I strike the darkness
then the wind
knocked out of my chest
Giana’s scream,
and there is no more.
CH 2
Rapid pounding
on waterlogged lungs
Forced air entering,
exiting slowly.
Muscles do not respond
as I press my hands
against her chest
wishing with all of me
that she will respond.
I look down on her face,
pale as the frost on the grass.
“Breathe!”
This desperate word escapes my lips.
A huge breath,
I exchange to her.
With a jolt,
she coughs out the water,
and attempts to rise.
Gently I push her towards the ground
urging her to rest.
Giana is crying.
“Wh-what happened?”
escapes the sing song voice
that is music to my ears.
She is alive.
Giana stops crying
as she hears that voice too.
I begin to question her;
“Do you have a headache?”
she nods,
grimacing in pain,
then begins to cry.
“Shhh….it’s all okay.
You’re safe now”
I assure her.
Eyelids open,
revealing sparkling pools
of blue, questioning me.
I explain how she fell,
and as I was hiding nearby
I jumped in and pulled her out
onto the bank where she now lays.
I hope she can remember us.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Of course I do stupid!”
she says,
a hint of her old self peeking through.
“Why were we running, Tony?
Why did you hide?”
she questions me.
“From us Jess.
Don’t you remember?
I told you.”
Giana insinuated.
She implores Giana to stop.
“Please..”
“Why don’t you get some sleep?”
I suggest.
She nods, then closes her eyes.
Taking off my jacket,
I tuck it around her,
wishing that we were safe inside.
“You think this was me?!”
I hiss, turning to face Giana.
“I know it was.”
she throws back at me.
“I’m going to see if we can go back.”
she states
disappearing into the trees.

Baba Vanga, a blind psycic girl (1911-1996), predicts that a World War III will erupt in 2010 because the 4 heads of the world being assasinated.
She’s not a joke, she predicted September Eleventh in 1989.

BUSH is capitalized because that was the surname of the president at the time.

2010: World War 3 begins in November 2010. Starting as a regular war, it will progress to a nuclear and chemical war. Vanga says the war will be finished by October 2014.
2011: As a result of the war, radioactive showers will destroy almost all life in the Northern Hemisphere. The remaining Europeans will face an even further threat from the Muslims who will use chemical weapons to finish them off.
2014: As another result of the chemicals and nuclear weapons during the war, most of the world population will have skin cancer and other skin diseases.
2016: Europe is nearly uninhabited.
2018: China will become the new superpower. The exploiters will become the exploited.
2023: The Earth’s orbit will change.
2025: Europe is still very underpopulated.
2028: A new energy source will be found. Hunger is overcome. A manned space flight will leave for Venus.
2033: The world water levels will rise as the polar ice caps melt.
2043: Economy is good. The Muslims will run Europe.
2046: All bodily organs can be reproduced, becoming the easiest and most popular method of treatment.
2066: The U.S. uses a new climate-changing weapon on Muslim controlled Rome.
2076: Communism takes over.
