A panel and exclusive world premiere of the first trailer for Immortals screened this past weekend at Wondercon in San Francisco, CA. Director Tarsem Singh, Producer Mark Canton, actors Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, and Isabel Lucas were introduced to the eager attendees and immediately the movie preview was played on the big screens.
First we see a bottom-up view of an eagle screeching and soaring against a clear blue sky. Following the eagle in to a city, we suddenly see raids and the fighting of sandals and swords in the ever popular slow motion action style. The imagery is bathed in high contrast, bringing out the brassiness of armor and emphasizing shadows. We then see Theseus (played by Henry Cavill, also the new Superman) witnessing in horror as the ruthless King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) slices the neck of Theseus’ Mother, killing her in front of his very eyes. The preview alludes to the fact that the Greek Gods are not allowed to directly intervene in human affairs (very much the rule in Greek mythology) but they choose Theseus to fight against King Hyperion’s tyrannous rein. Phaedra (Freida Pinto), looking especially beautiful, tells Theseus that the Gods chose wisely.

The majority of questions to the panel switched between Singh and actor Henry Cavill, Cavill being especially popular with the female audience (at moments the screaming was almost deafening). The most pertinent questions about the movie however were directed at Singh, one of those questions being about the accuracy of Greek mythos in the film. Singh explained that there was some artistic license taken when working the story. He emphasized that when considering those changes, he also considers “How many people are you pissing of?” then tries to strike a happy medium while still “injecting” his “DNA” into the work.
Perhaps the most pointed element of the film Singh noted is the young appearance of the Greek Gods: “If you have to be immortal, what do you want to look like?” In this case Singh made the decision that the Gods look youthful but remain wise. However, to keep them relatable, both Singh and several actors noted that just like in Greek mythos, the Gods are not without their flaws.
All actors agreed that their roles were very physically demanding and Singh described the fighting in the film as “very physical” and compared it to the fighting scenes in Old Boy and Fight Club.
Even if the viewer did not know that the producers of Immortals also produced 300, it is almost a guarantee that viewing the Immortals preview will make you immediately think of (or perhaps even mistake it for) 300. The visual style is strikingly similar and because of the “sandals and swords” content Singh might not get as much credit as he should (The Cell, anyone?).
While some might find it exciting that Immortals seems reminiscent of 300, others may wonder “Haven’t we seen this already?” However, between the preview and the description tidbits given from the panel, perhaps Immortals won’t be just a visual carbon copy of a movie that has already been made. Given Singh’s previous visually stunning work, I’m sure we’re bound to see imagery that will help set it a part.
Do I think the story is going to be groundbreaking and win Academy Awards for it’s screenplay? No. We’ve seen a plethora of adaptions and variations of Greek mythos before. Do I get the impression that Immortals will at least be entertaining? As Producer Mark Canton enthusiastically put it, the film is a “Popcorn bad ass movie”. I’m inclined to believe that Immortals will be exactly that.
This movie is definitely on my radar.

Hey ,it’s me again, and you guys seemed to like the last story I wrote so I decided to post this one .

Because Jasmin was so close to dying .So she pleaded the man to transform her into a vampire . When he did Jasmin was in even more pain than she already had been in .While Jasmin was out cold the man brought her to his family to ask them what he should do with her .His family was shocked and confused so they discussed the whole matter while they waited for the awakening of the new born vampire Jasmin Cullen.

Jasmin ~
“No, . I won’t let you all take the blame for this .I created her ,so I will take care of her.”
Edward proclaimed .Then Esme looked at him and said “Edward ,darling no you won’t .We shall all
take care of her for she is only a child ,not a lost dog you have to treat her with care and love .”
she explained while stroking my cheek “I know .” Edward sighed “I just don’t want you all to have to deal with something I did. ” “No ,it’s all right besides she is just so precious .” Esme replied .
By this time I wasn’t in pain anymore ,and I was wondering why I was just laying here while they talked over me so I decided to open my eyes all the way . .everything was much clearer than it used to be ,much more in detailed ,but still yet the same .”Carlisle,Edward !” the women Esme gasped they all spinned toward me, “Impossible! She still looks human.” Carlisle whispered
they both looked at him then back at me .What does that mean, I thought to myself .I looked down at my hands and arms and legs, I was barely pale .My skin wasn’t as cold as I had felt Edward’s to be earlier .Then it hit me the . .curse !The dragons seed .The venom couldn’t penetrate all the way through it I must be still part human ! “Hello, sweetheart are you alright “? the women Esme asked me “My name is Esme , this is my husband Carlisle ,and my son Edward .How do you feel ?”
she explained .The man Carlisle pulled her away kind of as if to say ,stay clear from her ,
Then the guy Edward moved in closer to me “Hello what is your name ?” I sat up ,they cautioned themselves and moved back a little ,except for Esme who came over and sat by me . Then finally
I tried to speak .”Hello”. I said in a rather faint whisper .I kind of sounded like I was singing in a high
soprano ,Like bells , it was beautiful .then Carlisle kind of smiled at me then asked the question over again “What’s your name ,little one ?” I stared for a moment, then straightened myself on the soft white couch then I closed my eyes and whispered “My name is Jasmin .” I don’t know why I was acting like that I’m usually a very outspoken child .I peeked an eye open Edward looked very cautioned
,Carlisle looked as if he was trying to figure me out ,but Esme was smiling endearingly at me
and said “And what a very beautiful name it is .” I giggled “Thank you .” I knew I was blushing ,that is if I could still do that .then Edward asked me “Are you . . .I mean is your throat burning ?”
I thought for a moment then looked at him with a puzzled expression “No,it kind of tickles but it doesn’t burn.” I don’t know what that means why would my throat burn ,”Because your a vampire now ,well . .at least some what of a vampire ,and that means that we have to satisfy that burning sensation .” Edward answered my thought . . I studdered “H–how.” “I can read minds .” he answered again ,I looked at them I was about to spill over with questions ,but then Carlisle cut in with “S–so your not thirsty ?” it sounded like he was trying to make sure he had heard Edward right .I shook my head “No,.” then I thought for a moment ,then continued with “I am a bit hungry though what do you all have to eat around here?” then they all had that same puzzled expression that Carlisle had on his face . They looked back and forth at each other “You’re hungry?” they all said at the same time .

Short Preview .
We last left off with Jasmin being in a car accident ,at the stroke of death ,when this mysterious man notices her and comes to help .Jasmin starts to observe his ways and characteristics and she discovers his identity -vampire .Realizing that she is going to die,she pleads for this man to transform her into a vampire (which he does).

I knew he had to be running at least a hundred miles an hour especially when everything around us looked like big blobbs .I started to ask this man who he was and where he was taking me, but because of the tiny fact that there was sharp ,intense burning running through my body
I decided to just lay in his arms half out of it ,and from what I could tell it only took him a few minutes
to get to where ever it was he wanted to go .I was bearly peeking through my eyes and I saw a big fancy house surrounded by woods ,I was guessing that this must be his home .He darted up the porch to the door ,and he started to get really nervous and fidgety.With me still in his arms he searched anxiously through his pocket for something ,probably a key ; then he stopped searching ,
sighed to himself then just broke the door down .When he did ,inside the house there was a man
sitting on a couch with an astonished but confused expression on his face; he also had the same pale skin as this man holding me .But if you you exclude that exprression, he had a very professional looking profile ,and very handsome at that .Beside him there was a women she was very beautiful she had brown hair ,along with the same pale skin .They are all probably vampires I thought to myself .I kind of glanced up at the man holding me ;he had a very uneasy edge to him all the sudden “I’m . .sorry.” he said as if to be so confused by this whole thing .”What is it my son “? the professional man asked
almost as confused as the one holding me .he started to answer back ,but then the women gasped
“Oh no! Honey you didn’t .Is she dead”? “No but sh-she .I- I-.” he replied studeringly as he laid me on the couch between the man and women .Then he started to pace back and forth while trying to explain to them what had happened .I zoned out from their conversation for a while, then started to focus my attention on my injuries that hadsome how faded all the sudden ,and the burning that started to ease and fade as well ;it kind of amazed me a little .Then I continued to listen to what they were saying and the last thing I heard was “Then she asked me to transform her .” the man that was holding me said kind of panicked then the women looked at me endearingly and replied while stroking my fore head , “Aww the poor thing must be in so much pain .” Then I thought ,well . . she was right to a degree ,because for some strange reason I had absolutely no more pain .Then the professional looking man stood up and said “Edward, you didn’t.Do you even know the girls name ,or where she came from . .” he paused then continued “She’s also just a child .A child !”then they started to mumble a little as if there was something for me not to hear ,then the women looked at me then went to join their conversation then the man I think , Edward sighed ” Carlisle ,I know ,I know . .but I couldn’t just let her die, plus there’s something different about her I’m not sure what . . .maybe when she wakes up then she can tell us .” then the the professional man sighed .
then came over to examine me then said “Yes ,she should be waking up in a little while .”
then he sighed as if he had another thought “Edward you know how new born vampires are . .how on earth are you going to control her ?” he kind of raised his tone at the end . the women smiled at me then cut in with “Well she’s part of the family now . .so we can’t let anything happen to her .”
they both looked at her then the man Carlisle said “Esme ,honey we can’t sh-she . .”
“She what , she is one of us now and that’s that! ” the women argued then the guy ,Edward sighed
then the man Carlisle laughed “As you wish my love .” she smirked at him .Then the guy Edward
