If you don’t know Gears of War, here’s a small primer: each game has one of the Carmine brothers. The first two games have killed off each Carmine brother as the game progresses. Now you’re caught up!
Gears of War 3 is shaking that formula up a little. Epic Games has decided to put the fate of the third (and final?) Carmine, Clayton, to a vote.
Starting July 29th, you will be able to download two special avatar shirts from the Xbox LIVE Avatar Marketplace, one that says “Save Carmine,” and the other which states, “Carmine Must Die.” By buying one, you’ll cast your vote for the fate of Clayton Carmine in Gears 3.
For those attending Comic-Con, Epic will be selling real versions of the avatar shirts for $20 a pop, which will also be counted in the vote tally.
This isn’t just a way to make a quick buck. The proceeds from the Avatar Marketplace and Comic-Con sales will be given to Child’s Play, the charity that Penny Arcade started up that brings video games and new toys to sick children through their connection with over 60 children hospitals around the United States.

You have the power to determine Clayton Carmine’s fate. I heard that you can determine his fate in Gears 3. Choose his fate by buying a “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die” shirt on Xbox live. I don’t know if they are still doing that, but I think he should die. I want to inspire you to let Carmine die. The reason that Clay Carmine must die is to show us that sometimes, occasionally, there is victory in death. I don’t want Clay’s death to be comical or arbitrary, I want it to mean something, to inspire hope. Unlike Anthony and Benjamin, I want Clay to go out in a blaze of glory; a blaze that ensures that the Carmine name is burned deeply into the history of Sera, white-hot and unavoidable. I want Clay to redeem the Carmine name so that it stands for sacrifice – unflinching obedience to duty and victory at any cost. Carmine men has always been soldiers and believe that death in battle brings honor to the family name. So don’t let him suffer. Let him die so that the Carmine legend might live.
That part was the part to let him die. Now…
It’s true that Clay does have one more little brother left, but if Clay is gone, who will look out for D. Carmine? Clay is a bad ass, and badasses shouldn’t be killed – they should get medals. He is unlike his other brothers Anthony and Benjamin. Anthony and Benjamin were both in their early twenties and act just like any kid thrown into a war would – but Clay is different. He’s the oldest and those awkward gun-jamming years are gone – we’ve entered the era of Carmine badass-ness. I’m telling you, if he dies, who will look out for D. Carmine? D. Carmine will be lonely. If C. Carmine dies, D Carmine will probably get himself killed too. Marcus Fenix has already watched two Carmines die under his watch and I hope he’d do everything in his power to prevent that from happening again.
OK, I’m done giving you details. Now, will you let him die, or let him live?

My favorite is Clayton Carmine, I just wished Michael Gough didn’t do his voice(since he did all the other ones). Clayton needs a more “tough” voice =/
